Thank you, Dr, Lee for such timely article about the Christianity you shared with us.
I, by myself, have thought many times what if Christianity had Never Been created especially whenever I traveled non-Christian countries like, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi and India where I regularly visit to help the colleagues to take care of vascular malformations.
Indeed, due to my unique opportunity to get involved to the crusade for the vascular malformation through decades, I had more chance to encounter many non-Christian peoples like Hindus and Muslims to learn the vast differences in their culture/custom from Christians which I never thought or dreamed and appreciate profoundly how much the Christianity has influenced to the human lives, either Christians or non-Christians, throughout the world.
As mentioned in the first article you shared, for example, Christianity contributed to this Hinduism-dominated world, not only to stop the practice in India of widow-burning but also to initiate/introduce the education especially of western medicine to India.
Indeed, I learned it through my first-hand experience based on ‘Christian Medical College (CMC) of Vellore’. Through the CMC of Vellore- there are quite a few CMCs throughout India but the one at Vellore in Tamil Nadu/South India leads the CMC group especially in the field of vascular surgery and I made a substantial investment (?) through my protégé, Prof. Edwin Steven, current chief of the vascular surgery division to organize the vascular malformation center ( I still do visit to Vellore every three years in these days to continue to give a peer review and new patient consultation)-, I learned how much Christianity affected/contributed to Indian society/culture despite it remains as a minority especially when you should compare with Islam.
No other religions as I know of gave such humanitarian helps to the people throughout such huge continent of India with billions of peoples.
Interestingly, only the CMC of Vellore was founded by ‘American’ Methodist missionary- one lady from North Carolina, Dr. Ida Sophia Scudder – and I was so moved to learn such dedication she made to South Indians purely based on the Christianity.
Although Christianity in earlier days was being used as a political tool, not only through the Crusades in the Middle Ages but also the Conquistador in the 15th-to-17th century, Christianity is a lot different from other religions like Islam giving so much of humanitarian helps I once again confirmed.
Happy New Year!

Thank you very much, 선배님, for your invaluable comment.
Your observation based on your first hand experiences worldwide helps
the rest of us see the world, the world history, and the human civilizations
more clearly and objectively to say the least.

Glad you enjoyed my vain lament, Dr. Lee.
But it was certainly fascinating to me to see such odd group of Christian people peacefully in the sea of Hindus, not like a constant threat they get in the Muslim world. Through unique connection with Southern India, I
once again learned the humanity over the religions.
I love incredible India.
Warm regards,
BB Lee

My Lord God,
I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
nor do I really know myself,
and the fact that I think I am following your will
does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you
does in fact please you.
And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road,
though I may know nothing about it.
Therefore will I trust you always though
I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death.
I will not fear, for you are ever with me,
and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.
