I have a mixed feeling on this lament in regard to the 'Chinese virus' Idiot Trump insists to call.
Indeed, don't we still call 'Spanish flu' or 'HongKong flu' named after the place where it was confirmed as the original place? Although White trash uses this name, Chinese virus, as an excuse to attack Asian looking people, I still prefer to call the Chinese virus or Wuhan pneumonia-like Spanish flu instead of stupid code name: COVID-19 for the layperson. After all, it started from Wuhan and CCP (Chinese communist party) covered it up for a full two months to let it explode throughout the world! So I feel bad and also protest what White trash does to Asian looking people here in the U.S. but the fact is the fact, no matter what, and CCP caused this pandemic- someone rightly calls it 'CCP-virus' after all.
Too bad we all look like Chinese!
BB Lee
P.S. Indeed, I recall one incident I had as the victim of Chinese by myself. When I went to Sydney a few years ago to give lectures to UIP Congress, I had to check-in at Hilton Hotel and I was furious to the Hotel receptionist with such a rude attitude so that I shouted with a maximum voice 'Look! I am NOT a fucking Chinese. Don't handle me like fucking Chinese tourists' and demanded the Manager come out to apologize for such rude attitude/handling of me. The manager knew who I am and gave a profuse apology immediately but pointed at a big crowd of Chinese tourists occupying the waiting area/lounge- some were lying on the couch to sleep -, saying how much they were frustrated with unruly vulgar behaviors by Chinese tourists. Soon I understood fully why I became their/Chinese victim with similar face/looking because the Aussy business peoples were so fed up with fucking Chinese tourists not only at the hotel but also at the airline checking counter, restaurants, and even the museums, etc, etc, wherever you go in Australia. Indeed, I had a chance to pass by one small eatery place near to the hotel, which was owned/run by a young Korean immigrant couple so that I stopped to having a quick bite and heard so many incidences of how badly Chinese tourists behavior. So, we have no other choice but to prepare to become a victim of Chinese all over! This Wuhan virus is simply one incidence of Chinese caused!

Thank you, Professor Lee, for your valuable comment and
sharing your experience and observation on the behavior of Chinese tourists.
For many years I haven't traveled so I am the last to be qualified to make any current comment.
Nonetheless, I like to say a few words about three ethnic groups, i.e. Chinese, Japanese and Koreans,
from the background of over four decades-long private medical practice.
First of all, one time from the late '70s thru 80's Korean tourists thru Europe and Japan behave badly
or in an uncivilized manner similar to the current Chinese tourists, perhaps not as badly.
In 1978 I joined one hundred other US cardiologists in a chartered airplane to do one week long
Japan tour followed by three days in Hong Kong, preceded by attending the World Congress of Cardiology
in Tokyo where I presented a paper.
I was the only Asiatic in the group and was greeted first in Japanese whenever I checked into the hotel.
They apparently thought I was Japanese American. Then I heard comments from colleagues and hotel
employees every breakfast buffet time at the hotel to watch out groups of Korean tourists because
no food will be left on the food stands after they go through indicating they grabbed everything in sight.
I felt blushed each time I heard that. Your description of the Chinese tourists reminded me of my old experience.
Secondly, in my private practice, Japanese Americans were best-behaved patients, and the Chinese the worst.
The Chinese were the most demanding, bold and in some cases uncivilized. The Koreans were in between.
Still among the Chinese, there were three different stereotypes depending on where they came from, i.e.
Taiwan, Hong Kong, and mainland China. Hong Kong is the worst, and Taiwan close to Hong Kong,
and Mainland China close to Korea. This is just a rough generalization according to my observation.
I had a Chinese associate, a lady doctor from Nan Kyung or Jing University graduate, for ten years
to whom I gave my entire medical practice totally free. She is still acting as my and my wife's family doctor
so that I may be biased. This Chinese doctor, my former associate, agreed with my observation and
prefers Korean and Japanese patients rather than her fellow countrymen and women because of
the same reasons so that she does not advertise in their Chinese newspaper.

What an interesting story/view, Dr. Lee, sharing much of it by myself! Indeed, there are many records on Japanese tourists and then Korean tourists who went through exactly the same path already as current Chinese tourists do but by the numbers, Chinese tourists are simply overwhelming to let them look much more visible, which is true in a certain way. But Aussy's situation is a bit unique, more or less self-inflicting wound of new(?) policy to welcome Chinese investment and different from other parts of the world I have to point out! Anyway, I feel Chinese are too many and also each one makes three times more noise/sounds by their language/intonation than average 'quiet' Japanese to annoy the people as one of my friends' comments.
Indeed, one of the jokes I share with my colleagues over the dinner is how to figure out the ethnicity among same looking Asians at the airport is " if you could recognize the voice/conversation among Asian groups across the hall, then they must be Chinese! But if you would need to cross the hall and could hear their talking before you cross the half, then they are Koreans. However, if you still need to come near close to them and barely hear, then, they sure are Japanese!
2020.03.28 06:22
Friendship, as well as loyalty, is a different matter I learned. Indeed, across the board, the faithfulness of Chinese friends as well as the colleagues is the best in my experiences and learned the difference among three Asian ethnicities through the painful lessons!
For example, it is now almost 16 years since I came back to the US from Seoul and I still get the invitation from Chinese colleagues to their Congress, etc every year with no exceptions while the Japanese invite me regularly every two to three years to express their gratitude on my help.
But, Korean colleagues????
I learned the lesson!
BB Lee
PS. BTW, the Korean Society of Biomedical Engineering is the only exception and they, the engineers, invited me a few occasions as the founding president through the years.

I wish I could give you a reasonable answer to you, Dr. Lee, as to
why your Korean colleagues have not invited you back home for lectures
in spite of your pioneering work for Korean medicine.
The only consolation I could think of is what most bible readers know,
which is, Jesus Christ was also rejected in his hometown just as many great
patriotic Koreans were rejected and killed by assassins in their homeland
after the liberation from Japan.
I am just glad you came back to the States with your career and reputation intact.
There is a well-known warning in this world, "Watch and beware of your own kind!"
A long time ago I learned that Indian doctors do the same thing to their kind,
and so do the Chinese as well.
I guess that is what's called politics or perhaps jealousy.
2020.03.28 12:41
Dr. Lee, you make me feel humbled! But all I wished to my own Korean kins/colleagues was to treat/judge me fairly, no more no less! Sadly it didn't go that way but rather 'one-way love' and no reciprocation. Further, the one who got the biggest help from me among many Koreans turned around to hurt me most as soon as I left Korea so that many of his own colleagues got upset like 'bite the hand to feed', I later heard. That was the last nail on the coffin to me turned me off completely 'no more Korean stuff!', no sir. Honestly, I am too embarrassed to tell my colleagues and never criticized Korean colleagues through these many years!
Indeed your consolation reminds me of one embarrassing episode which made me spill the bean among American friends. Not many years after I got back home, I got a call from my buddy, Bo Eklof, then the president of American Venous Forum one evening to thank for the opportunity to him to visit Korea by the invitation with me to annual Congress of Korean Society of Phlebology I founded as a surprise. I was the one really surprised and further embarrassed to learn since they never invited me back to Congress. So I told Bo that they have never invited me back though I am the one who founded and put this society on the right track to become a member society of IUP when I was a VP together with Bo. Bo was quite agitated and felt so bad about how my own Korean protege treated me who took over society. A few weeks later, Bo called me to report his visit to Korea and giggled saying " BB, I gave them hell enough so that I want you to forget about it! Remember how jews rejected Jesus". Later I heard Bo openly scolded Koreans during his keynote lecture and also the welcome dinner on such shameful behavior only to undermine the image on Koreans.

A bit surprised to your comments on Idiot Trump, Dr. 황 !
We all know this bastard has the brain maturation arrested at the level of Age 3 to age 5 years at maximum. So he is not capable to have insight nor empathy nor a sense of guilt. He is simply 'idiot' confirmed by the specialists based on many stark facts, period! His brain maturation failed to reach even to age 7 to 9 to the level of 'imbecile' way before the age level of 10 to 12 to become a 'moron'.
Once again I am amazed at such wise old Korean saying: 세살적 버릇 여든까지 간다 . This guy is the model of this description.
You might wonder how I am so convincing? YES, I did have a very unique chance to learn how to assess the brain maturation level as an outside peer for one nasty incidence involved to one infamous surgeon - as a courtesy, I do not want to bring his name on public but many of you might have read on the newspaper years ago as a scandal !- who was investigated by DOJ based on the whistleblower. To perform the role as one and only outsider/non-military physician peer, I had to spend many hours to study including the doctrine of Austrian neuro embryology school/concept. Besides, we already heard one Yale psychiatry group evaluated thoroughly to declare his brain function is subnormal fixed to the age level of 3 - 5 years, based on the same principles.
So bastard Trump is mentally incompetent but 39% of the people voted for him, which indirectly reflects this 39 % is also mentally incompetent to make a proper judgment, I am afraid to say! Indeed, I was really surprised such many are a real fool and I am sure they will vote him again as a guarantor for another 4 years you bet!
So sad, isn't it, Dr.황? That is the liability of so-called 'democracy' we all are aware of!
Lastly, I would like to remind you that this country belongs to and also run by the White supremacists, and most of them are so-called 'white trash' regretfully and we are one of the minorities!!!!
Warm regards,
BB Lee

Thank you, Dr. Hwang, for the Michigan news.
COVID-19 is exploding there just as badly as here in Southern Cal.
It is everywhere around us. This vicious virus finally traps us all.
No one knows at this time how long this seize will last.
We, seniors, are sitting ducks at the mercy of this virus.
Our only guide for survival is indeed medical science which
failed in the 1918 Flu Pandemic and Medieval Pandemic.
Now we are finding out how successful our 21st-century medical science
will be in fighting this Pandemic.
Let's do our bests in following their guide to the letter and to the best we can
for the sake of our loved ones and our remaining life journeys.

Even though our leader brought us into this mud, but I believe in
American people and system would get us out of this in matter of time!
Thanks for your comments! Subaenim and Dr. Lee! KJ

All the Americans including myself perhaps need to learn to wear masks as Asians do and as this Chinese scientist points out.
