The following article is from today's NY Times,
which details what has been going on for decades
in regard to the so called white nationalism and the far right movement
and how unprepared our law enforcement agencies are in dealing with it.
It is indeed scary and makes you stop and think.
Interestingly both articles in CNN and NY Times appeared today.
Our civilized US citizens should certainly be concerned about this widespread
movement, spreading like wild fire.

For two decades, domestic counterterrorism strategy has ignored the rising danger of far-right extremism. In the atmosphere of willful indifference, a virulent movement has grown and metastasized.

After World War II, so many nationalists got killed by two superpowers; U.S.S.R.
and U.S.A..The world order was reformed and Cold War era started. Nations
had to line up in one block or another. There was no place for nationalists, but
people wanted nation’s sovereignty most. In other words, nationalism has been
oppressed severely, but they never forgot. Since Berlin Wall came down and Cold
War ended, nationalism has been growing again. It is about time to show their
formidable power.
As a matter of fact, pendulum swings too far in the beginning in every aspect of human lives.
In a while, its energy weakens and it settles in the middle. I hope it settles before the irreversible
damage is done.

‘You know what I am?
I’m a nationalist’ insinuating that he is not
a racist.

An image of about 60 male high school students in Baraboo, Wis., many of them smiling gleefully with one arm in the air, went viral and drew condemnation.
I suppose when competition for survival, whether it's economic or anything else, gets tough,
man's animal instinct always dominates his behavior and decision making, which
history reveals always winds up in bringing out tragedies and disaster such as World War II.
This article summarizes clearly what's happening in the world politically and economically,
and the relentless movement of the far right in the world and all around us.
We super seniors can't help being concerned about the future of our children and grandchildren,
especially as one of minorities in this country.
