I moved in Modesto 2001 and the climate changed dramatically.
From mid-November to March, fog stayed until almost noon everyday.
And rain comes down very frequently. It had been a regular daily winter
weather in Modesto, Ca for a while. But about last 10 years, I do not
see many foggy days and rainfall has decreased almost in half.
In summer, there were a few days over 100F days, now about a week of
triple digit days. I like drier and non foggy winter, but draught and fire
are serious problem.

There aren't very much we can do about the dry summer and the Santa Ana winds.
But the first thing and the cheapest thing we can do is to totally ban smoking in California
as well as the state-wide prohibition of the sales of cigarettes and marijuana.
That will make me and everybody else very happy.

(CNN)The death toll in the Camp Fire in Northern California has risen to 23 with the discovery Saturday of 14 more sets of remains, Butte County Sheriff and Coroner Kory Honea told reporters.
Honea said 10 of the victims were recovered from the fire-ravaged town of Paradise. He said seven people were found in homes, and three were outside. Of the remaining four, two were in cars and two were in houses in an area known as Concow.

Donald J. Trump✔@realDonaldTrump
There is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!

For a few days, air quality around here is horrible. It is hazy all around.
It is 186, whatever it means. There have been too many fires in California last
5-6 years. I wonder we are doing enough in terms of prevention and extinguishing
on time. Governor Brown should listen to Trump before ignore him because he
is ridiculous most of time.
Here we go again.
We have three wildfires in CA, which killed at least 9 people.
Trump blames the poor forest management by the state government
and threatens ending the federal government aid.
The natural question everybody has why so many wildfires in CA?
This article in NY Times today tries to answer the question, but
doesn't provide any specific ways to prevent them.
gather we just have to continue to pay the price dearly for all the wrongs
humans did to the planet earth.
