In my personal opinion, I wish Biden did not say about the genocide of the Armenians.
I am afraid Biden is somehow unnecessarily talking too much.
It happened during the Ottoman Empire when there had been no such civilized and
higher-standard thought about human rights and decency.
Then, the political and social system was not even that of the Turkey Republic.
The Turkish people can not be responsible for the massacre that happened 100 years ago
by the Islamic nation and people of the Ottoman Empire.
"똥 묻은 개가 겨 묻은 개 나무란다"라는 말이있지만, the U.S. is not truly innocent
in the way of the human right and dignity in the historical perspective.
Weren't the killings of American Indians and Chinese Coolies a genocide in disguise?
Wasn't the slavery of the blacks in the U.S. any better than other inhumane activities?
How about the "White Supremacy" of today and the "KKK" actions of yesterday?
How about the current American policemen killing innocent blacks for nothing?
Why is the damn Trump still so popular and still controls the Republican Party?
Koreans (including myself) could have easily done the genocide of the Japanese,
if they were given a chance and the power.
Do you realize that a lot of Americans and Christians are hypocritical and biased?
I think there is no sense in turning the Turkish Republic into an enemy at this time.
I am not afraid to say that there is no reason for Joe Biden to have declared the genocide.
It is just like the stupidity of Donald Trump shooting his own feet.

I couldn't agree more, doc!!! You are absolutely right!
I also share a similar view with you, Steve, on this statement by Joe Biden in regard to the genocide of Armenians. But I presume this is a part of his new initiative on human right campaign though I don't know how much it would be needed at this stage and beneficial and not much more than 한번 집고넘어간다 to make the formal acknowledgment.
Anyhow, the Armenian genocide is an unequivocal fact, Turks cannot and should not deny. We all know too well through the sad Armenian diaspora and this country provided their major settlings especially in California!
Anyhow, I do have a very unique relationship with quite a few Turkish colleagues for years and had many chances to visit various parts of their country so that I learned enough more detailed history of this tragic past and Turks did have some excuses to get dragged into this massacre especially after the WWI, though how much it is true I never tried to verify. But their excuses don't seem to be totally fabricated in my opinion and at least part of it seems to be true but they did such massacres with no doubt, not only after WWI but also many occasions already with many different reasons they claim.
Indeed, the regrettable part of the story is Turks failed to admit publicly whatever they did to innocent Armenians along with the Ottoman era, not like German to apologize for the Jewish holocaust but just like the Japanese to refuse to apologize for their brutal massacre through WWII like Nanjing massacre!
I guess it is a part of human nature and as Steve said, Koreans are no exception!
Remember what Korean troops did to the Vietnamese during the Vietnam War?
BB Lee
Since I came to the USA in 1965, one of the first mentors I encountered was Dr. Hogikyan,
an Armenian doctor, a fine internist and Tuberculosis expert, who used to take me out for dinner
and treated me like his son.
Unfortunately, he died of colon cancer with brain metastasis and still remember his choking voices
over the phone when I called him before he died.
Since then, I've met several highly successful Armenians including a few physicians
and learned about their history and the genocide by Turkey Ottoman Empire.
It is long overdue what Biden has done just now, but better late than never.
