Well, the winter season is not over yet, doc!
And there is no cross immunity either!

I know. Generally, I get into at least one or two spells of "Flu" in a year's time.
But, for the last year, I have not sneezed or febrile even once.
Does it mean that if we were careful, we may not get into "Flu"? A benefit of Covid-19?
Does a worse virus gets rid of the less-bad virus?

This is indeed a significant side benefit and a good learning,
especially for seniors like us. My answer to your question would be no.
I believe it just proves how important wearing mask, washing hands and
social distancing is. We lost one of our dear alumni here 2 years ago because of
flu virus pneumonia which kills some 30000 seniors every year.
I think it will be a good practice to continue wearing mask, etc., for seniors
even after this Pandemic is long gone, especially when we see our grandchildren
and are having family gatherings.
I predicted this when the Pandemic began about a year ago and
told my wife we would skip flu shots last fall, which we haven't done
all thru our adult life.
It turned out no harm was done.
It is interesting to note that this is a worldwide phenomenon and
that they don't know if there will be flu shots available this coming fall.
