"Male Wild Turkeys provide no parental care. Newly hatched chicks follow the female, who feeds them for a few days until they learn to find food on their own. As the chicks grow, they band into groups composed of several hens and their broods. Winter groups sometimes exceed 200 turkeys."

I like to think that chicks learned to find food on their own and moved on.

It seems that the chicks found foods on their own from the beginning as if it was their instinct.
They were constantly pecking something on the ground by sweeping with their feet
and also was pecking at the grasses. It seemed that they ate grasses or were they just playing?
Whatever they ate, they were growing rapidly and their wings were getting larger quickly.
While they were in my backyard, they stretched their wings often but never showed wing-flippings to me.
But, at least, they could run rather fast.
I guess they could run away from predators (bobcats and coyotes) by running into the dense woods.
I hope they do and they will.

 As a matter of record: (at about 3 weeks after the hatching)....

On July 1, 2015, my wife saw the turkey family with a mom and 10 chicks at our front yard driveway.
My wife was able to count them as 10 chicks.

On July 3rd, I saw the same Mama turkey with her chicks at the Country Club Parkway,
a busy street inside Castlepines Village about 3 blocks away from my home.
It seems that they were about 10 as I counted up to 8 as they disappeared into trees.
I would never know if they were the same turkey family at our backyard.
The chicks were much larger and were still following their mother very closely together.

It seems that the middle of June is the time for birds to hatch their chicks in Denver area.
All the ducks in the golf courses were having the same baby chicks with them.
