A Few Intimate Moments with Lydia Ko
I have never been so close to her. This was the first time to follow her through the entire game today. It was exciting to follow the No. One female golfer of the world. I am sure you know who they are. At the first tee. Jenny Shin of Korea (black dress with white stripes) and Brittany Lang (Blue upper and lower). But he didn't do or say anything to me. Sung-Hyun Park (yellow shirt, white pants) at the first tee. At the first green. Lydia had a long (about 15 feet) putt to go. But she put it in for a birdie. Wow !! Sung-Hyun got a trouble with her tee shot. While Lydia's swing was nice and easy while Sung-Hyun was hard-hitting. At the green of the second hole. Now, Lydia took her jacket off. She is the one with yellow upper and black pants. Sung-Hyun is the one with yellow upper and white pants. Sung-Hyun is putting. Here, Lydia made another birdie. Two up already for the day. At the 3rd hole par 3. One of the most beautifully landscaped hole. Ducks in the pond between the tee and the green. They are just quacking and flipping their wings with paying no attention at all to one of the most serious stuff for the humanity going on nearby. Putting by Sung-Hyun Park while Lydia standing and watching her nearby. By now, you should know who is who. I am not going to mention any more. Lydia's finishing putt at the 3rd hole. She was close to the hole but made a par. Lydia's tee off at the 4th hole. In the back nine on an uphill par 3. Sung-Hyun successfully hit her ball on to the green near pin-high. She got a loud clapping. But Lydia got short, hitting the front edge of the green and the ball backed down to a rough in front of the green. The first miss she made today. Every one sighed with "어머나, 에-그, 저런, ㅉ, ㅉ...." in disappointment. This is where Lydia double hit with her putter but recovered with a bogey. Another long par 3 going over a lake. At the 16th hole. A long par 4 but a few girls put the ball on the green as it was downhill all the way. Harukyo Nomura, a Japanese player put her tee shot near the pin within one-putt distance. I don't know if she made an eagle. At the 14th hole par 3. Another beautifully landscaped hole. Lydia testing the wind. At the 14th hole, there is a house apparently occupied by Korean family. Every year, they always put Korean and American flags together. I left the course without watching Lydia's final hole in order not to miss the shuttle bus to the airport. In the setting sun, a 태극기 is flapping in the wind. Long live Korean flag !! On the way out. The empty souvenir shop. A picture of the entrance gate. Earlier in the day, there were so many 경기임원 that I could not get the camera out. It was somewhat chilly for the southern California but was nice for walking the course. The maximum size I get from the PhotoBucket is 800 pixel wide. Sorry about that.
