영문은 "Republic of Korea"다.
"Republic of Gogurea"!

Wow, 혜초 as well went through this Wakhan valley/corridor in order to cross Pamir Plateau!
I am further amazed to hear about ‘왕오천축국전, which still remains intact in my memory of elementary school days. I once again thank for such quality education in Korea we received from the elementary school!!! Indeed, such education on the world geography – the geography class was my most favorite class through the elementary school days - gave me the motivation to get interested in Pamir which remained in my brain through these many years together with 천산북로/천산남로 we learned together.

P.S. Through the visits to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan I had a unique opportunity to peep into Pamir as well as 천산북로/천산남로, which only whetted my appetite to the region.

Thanks, Dr. Ohn, for these history drama series you shared with us. I spent the whole afternoon watching them. Indeed, it is the first time for me to watch through Korean made drama ever but really enjoyed it though I don’t know how much it contains the real history. Nevertheless, the third/last set was happened to be involved in Samarkand/Uzbekistan as well as Kyrgyzstan I was lucky to have a unique opportunity to visit- Samarkand/Uzbekistan for Takayasu’s Arteritis and Bishkek/ Kyrgyzstan for vascular malformation - so that it was particularly enjoyable. Indeed, it would have been much more enjoyable if I would have known this part of Chinese history involved in that region along with the Tian Shan Mountain range in addition to their own Islamic culture/history of Central Asia after the Timurid Empire before the visits.

P.S. As I wrote somewhere before, Osh/Kyrgyzstan was the center of Silk Road, known as 천산북로 so that I insisted to extend my visit to Osh after the visit to Bishkek/Kyrgyzstan and took the chance to cross/fly over 천산 by a small propeller plane while the weather permitted. It was indeed the trickiest venture ever I had - I certainly would not repeat such stupid(?) gamble - relying on one old small Russian made airplane with six passenger seats run by an obscure local private company with a notorious reputation for frequent crash accidents, though vehemently warned against by the colleagues! But, I felt it was once in a lifetime opportunity so that I gambled. However, on our way back to Bishkek from Osh, we crossed 천산 by car - it took two days to cross!- instead since the weather was exceptionally warm with no snowstorm yet despite it was the first week of November. Yes, it is really 天山! Believe me why they named this Tian Shan mountain range to 天山山脈. Simply awesome!!!
This is an amazing video made by a Korean offspring for his 고구려 general.
I've never heard anything like this in our ancient history.
We should be so proud that a Korean conquered a part of Afghanistan in the 8th century
Just wonder how Koreans run such a project thousands of miles away from home.
I ran out of time last night, but I will find and see the remaining editions of the same episode.
Thanks for the video.
