This is an interesting study from South Korea.
이화의과대학 연구팀들의 extensive original observation 으로
They certainly ought to be congratulated for having it published
in a reputable journal and bringing up the possible important contribution
of oral hygiene to the preventive cardiology.
There have been many observational studies in the past regarding the importance
of gum disease contributing to heart disease.

How interesting, Dr. Lee.
Prof Takehisa Iwai of Japan, founding president of Asian Venous Forum, has reported the relationship between oral/dental hygiene and Buerger's disease two decades ago, I recall! Indeed, most of transplant surgeons decades ago shared some suspicion on the dental infection which might increase the risk of acute rejection. Although it was never clarified, the dental check-up to take care of the infection is now routine part of the preparation for the transplant candidates. So, AFib as well?
