Does he know Korea is way ahead of America in controlling the epidemic?

I knew they will NOT allow Korean test kits, Dr. Ohn, no sirreeee!!!! How? I will tell you how I am quite convincing!

I used to be a staunch supporter of FDA-US, based on their heroic job to stick to their principle to banning Thalidomide you all are familiar with. No other country in the world than the U.S. was able to block Thalidomide by the industry-solicited public pressure despite rapidly mounting evidences of the birth anomaly development as its grave side effects so that I always praised/quoted their/FDA conservative approach to hold the permission to unknown drugs till they are 100% sure.

But, I changed/withdrew my support to FDA after I encountered with them by myself on the issue of one test agent of the radionuclide lymphoscintigraphy, that is, ‘antimony sulfur colloid’. FDA precociously banned this worldly popular agent based on such limited data with strong suspicion on the involvement of the competing industry in early 2,000, soon after I got back home to the U.S. from Seoul. It ruined one of two most valuable studies I ever done for the chronic lymphedema, using tons of SamSung money, for one full decade.  

Indeed, I still have such bitter feeling to the FDA bureaucracy I fought for over three year period to continue to use ‘antimony sulfur colloid’ for the lymphoscintigraphy on my lymphedema patients here in the U.S. as well based on the Johns Hopkins and Georgetown Univ to obtain a comparable data/findings so that we could continue to use/provide same criteria of the management protocol we set, to the U.S. patients as well.

I had the meeting with three different FDA groups almost a dozen time to persuade/appeal to them based on stark data with clear evidences for the benefit as well as the safety of ‘antimony sulfur colloid’.  I was so furious to their unfair biased attitude ignoring the facts that I once defiantly sent quite many U.S. patients to Mexico to have the test done with ‘antimony sulfur colloid’, if not, all the way to Genoa, Italy to my European base for years. I eventually stopped it by strong advice by the hospital lawyer for possible litigation by the local/state prosecutor especially of deep Southern States.

So, I finally gave in to the rule; ‘do in Rome as the Romans do’and eventually gave up the project based on the antimony sulfur colloid, losing so much invaluable data I painfully collected for a decade. I learned about the bureaucracy of the FDA through such painful lesson that I knew they ain’t go nowhere but will do the way they want unless Idiot Donald fire them all! They ain’t let Korean test kids coming in, Doc, because it would hurt the U.S. business/industry after all.
