한국의 국사는 조선의 중국과의 종주국-종속국 관계를 최소화 해왔다. 

제국주의 시대의 식민지는 아니었지만 외교와 국방을 중국에 맏기다 싶이 했고

무역 또한 중국에 완전히 의지했다. 요지음은 어떤가?

남한의 국방은 미국에 크게 의존하고 있고 외교등 국제관계는 미국의 윤허가 필요하다.

무역은 얼마전 까지 미국 의존도가 컷지만 요지음은 중국의존도가 더 크다.

북한은 조선 정도로 중국에 의지 하는 것으로 보인다.

이러한 구도에서는 통일은 요원하다. 

A small nation has one of two ways to exist and live by.

One is to stay as a 독립국 and the other is staying as a 종속국.

To be the former, you got to be strong and determined,

and to be the latter, you got to be just happy for being pushed around.

The north and South Korea seem to belong to the latter.

But they are much better off than other 종속국 in the world

such as Iran, Syria, Iraq, and others like them.

1. The North has its own nuclear weapon and missile system.

They may be poor but they are not getting pushed around.

The U.S. and China are very careful in handling it.

2. South Korea has it's own industrial strength.

For example, Samsung beats the U.S. and Chinese technological power

and they proudly prosper as number one in the world in certain industries.

Each one of them, despite their strength in certain fields, has to rely on the big brothers.

If they can be unified into one, they certainly will form the world-class strength

that no one can push around. There and then, they won't need any big brothers.

We are just looking at them helplessly and don't know what to do.

PS: Japan used to be one of the global industrial power. Not any more.

Lately, under Shinzo Abe, it is slowly crumbling into one of the weaker nations of the world.

Shinzo is trying to bring his nation back to the old glorious Japanese empire.

But it's not working. He is in the wrong era in the history of the world.

Now, even Koreans started to laugh at them. God bless them too.

Many Koreans realize the importance of geopolitics in the Korean Peninsula. But 

majority of Koreans do not understand it because they do not know what went on

in neighboring countries in the recent past. Japan was the natural enemy and occupier.

They hated the Japanese. They do not want to know about their history. Chinese are 

communists and the closest ally to North Korea. Studying communist China was 

almost illegal. Russia is the country of Lenin. You were almost sure to go to prison 

if you talk about him. Even though many important independent movements went on 

in Manchuria and Russia and many Korean fighters were with Mao's army and Russian 

red army, Koreans don't want to know about it. Consequently, many Koreans have 

prejudices on the current geopolitical situation in the Korean Peninsula. It causes the 

difficulty of setting the most effective policy for the future of Korean people.
