Widespread sexual exploitation before the Civil War strongly influenced the genetic make-up of essentially all African Americans alive today.

If one is offsprings of White and Asian or different nationalities among Europeans,
negative consequences on them from society are unlikely to occur.
But offsprings of Blacks and other races including Whites deemed to be Black.
For example, many blacks have European and Black parents. They are nothing
but Black. European heritages don't matter. Because of prejudices on Blacks,
they are born with disadvantages. I think prejudices have grown from their longstanding
unlawful behaviors that are rooted in historical discriminations that deprived of opportunities
to be better. They have gotten better than years ago as civil rights are better protected.
They do have more opportunities to be better than years ago. But I am not sure people's
prejudices lessened as much as their improvement has grown. As the disparity widens,
social unrest will increase.
My next-door neighbor Charlie is a Black. When I moved to my house in 2001 and
we found out that, we felt bad. He was working in San Jose that is about 80 miles
away. He leaves home around 4 AM to go to work every day. I did not know what he
exactly does and I never asked. His wife is a nurse. One day, he invited us to his house.
He showed me his music studio and his drawings on the wall. He showed his beautiful
garden that he himself cared for. He is very security conscious. He watches my house
when we are away. One day, I asked him about Trump, he said "somebody will kill him."
Not long after I moved to Modesto, I went into a bank and there are full of black people.
I was surprised by that the bank charged substantially more on their services including
interest on mortgages. I do feel fear when a Black appears where human traffics is scarce.
George Floyd's death is one of many systemic discriminations. I think policemen's behavior
is rooted in the common unlawful behavior of the black population as well as white men's prejudices.
But I am afraid black people have gotten far better than what other people thought about how they are.

Couldn't agree more, Dr. Ohn!!!! So sad! So helpless!
Race-based prejudice we heard all along, no one can deny but it has been over 50 years since I came to Richmond to start to encounter black peoples mostly through the ER with guns and knives injury and we still watch the same tragedy to instill unfair prejudice to black, regretfully.
There got to be some way to correct such unfair biased opinions to blacks across the board and to do so, they themselves ought to take the initiative to help themselves and no one outside could help them without a grassroots movement from the inside!

I don't know how long they would blame on their mentality inherited through 200-year slavery but if the gene should make much difference in terms of mentality(?) and/or attitude, the 20% modification might not be enough, then?
Honestly, I rather wish to blame the attitude among the majority(?) of black to remain current situation they are now stuck! For example, I don't like to watch them be so proud of 'single mom'! Is such status so proud to brag about? Something wrong, I don't know, but clearly they have to accept their responsibility as well to blame on themselves!
See Hispanics who make higher pay than black! Why?
Agitated,
BB Lee
P.S. I still believe affirmative action gave more negative outcomes/impacts on the black American than giving the benefit.
