No candidates or elected politicians in SK and US alike will openly accept NK as a nuclear nation.
They have to promise the public that NK will be denuked at some point in time if not immediately.
Because it is realistically almost impossible for a nuclear nation to give up her nuclear capability
completely and to the contrary, the public demand complete denuclearization, they have to show
at least the intent of it. In fact, there is very little danger that NK initiates a nuclear attack against SK
or US. I would say NK never start a nuclear war against the US. But nuclear proliferation in NE Asia is
real if NK is openly accepted as a nuclear nation. SK, Taiwan, and Japan are willing candidates. This
is an annoying problem for the US, because a country is armed with a nuclear weapon, she is not going
to be as submissive to the US as before. The US always try to be a lone nuclear nation if possible. Remember
politicians live with lies and the public often succumb to it.

As we all know, "Because it is realistically almost impossible for a nuclear nation to give up
her nuclear capability", why are we expecting NK to give up nuclear capability?
Just accept it! Don't daydream something that is realistically impossible.
The NK is a nuclear nation, period !! We should live with the fact.
After all, we (not only the SK but the entire world) allowed the NK (or pushed them to)
to be a nuclear power, didn't we?
No more BS, now, please.
In the shameful history of entire Korea, let's be proud of their achievement.
The NK can stand shoulder to shoulder with the strong nations in the world.
When, in the past, have Koreans done that? This is the first time in our history.
This isn't something to frown about but to be celebrated about.
Just forget the politics or ideologies for a while and don't get the idea of "사촌이 땅사면 배 아프다".
Trump is not adding any more pressure to the NK. China doesn't do anything except just watching.
What does it mean? It means the NK has become "Untouchable".
Since the end of "고구려", when have we been "Untouchable"?

Public paranoia on nuclear weapons was made by Cold War era politicians. They
were told Soviets will attack U.S.. In reality, they will not attack unless U.S.
attack them first and vise versa. In other words, politicians and government
has understood that nuclear arsenal is for defense, but they have told the public
it is for offense. Consequently, they have to tell the public that NK will shoot
rockets with nuclear head to U.S.. And they have to show them that NK has no
nuke anymore before normalizing diplomatic relationship with NK. Irony is that
US never seek for normal diplomatic relations before she possessed nuclear weapon.
Then why do Americans regard NK as normal nation if NK is denuked ? Therefore
she will not give up her nuclear capability.

Can democrats do better than Trump on North Korea?
This is quite a pertinent question and timely.
It seems like what our WM wished and Dr. Ohn predicted
may become a reality if some of the presidential candidates
become elected, namely, accepting NK as one of nuclear states
alongside the powerful nuclear states.
