United States and China are the two largest economies of the world in both Nominal and PPP method. US is at top in nominal whereas China is at top in PPP since 2014 after overtaking US. Both country together share 40.75% and 34.27% of total world's GDP in nominal and PPP terms, respectively in 2019. GDP of both country is higher than 3rd ranked country Japan (nominal) and India (PPP) by a huge margin. Therefore, only these two are in competition to become first.

China has the market that is almost as big as U.S.. The countries that U.S. think as her allies 

will not stay as the traditional partners with U.S..  It will be hard to draw the line between pro-China 

and pro-U.S. or anti-China or anti-U.S.. I do not think it is a good idea for U.S. to treat China as 

an enemy. 
 

Chinese system, one party socialistic capitalism is not durable. I think it will disintegrate 

at some point. Historically, the empire that ignored diversity had ended. If Korea keep 

growing to be a strong nation, the opportunity that she can take Machuria back will come. 
When China disintegrated toward the end of Qing dynasty, Korea had the chance to 

recover Manchuria if she was strong like Japan.
