Nobody knows how the strong U.S. is until national strength is challenged by the enemy. 
The coronavirus is one of the possible enemies. When the war between the Qing dynasty and Japan broke out,

the world never thought Japan would win. It revealed how terribly weak Qing was.

Russia was considered to be the sure winner when Japan challenged her in the early 20th century. 
 

The U.S. has to find out what went wrong. It is obvious that the systems including health care is not up

to the par to deal with pandemic adequately. As far as the pandemic is concerned,

the U.S. is inferior to China, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, and the European Union.

There is no excuse for it. It is certainly not just because of Trump.
