It is clear that the opinions of all the brilliant minds in dealing with COVID19 in the USA
are unfortunately sharply divided and that the outlook and the prognosis of
the status of COVID19 of the USA remains poor, grim, and dark in spite of the
glimmering hope of effective vaccines in the foreseeable future.
As one of the elderly citizens of the USA, I can only hope and pray that
every one of us continues to do his or her best in this what seems like
never-ending survival game.
I concur with Dr. Prasad's opinion in the above.

I certainly do have a mixed feeling on 'glimmering hope of effective vaccines in the foreseeable future' you generously quoted, Dr. Lee! Indeed we did have quite hot debate on this issue through 'Vasculab' which has about 3,000 readers, mostly vascular specialists around the world, and I replied to Prof. Recek of Austria on this vaccine issue as following;
In reality, Cestmir, the experts anticipate 70% at best to get the vaccination among the general population and further, they expect/hope the efficacy of vaccination to 70% at best among them so that actually 50% across-the-board will be realistic outcome, which means other 50% of the population will remain wax and wane through the coronavirus risks until the nature kicks in to wipe out the vulnerable group like you and me!!!!
Sadly,
BB Lee
P.S. More specifically, Cestmir, I should reiterate I condemn the ‘natural’ way of ‘herd immunity’ through repeated pandemic or artificial spreading of the virus throughout the population with no mask, no social distancing, no hand washing, nothing but kissing and hugging to share the virus as much as possible, to make sure there is NO confusion. Indeed, the vaccination is the surest way and safest way to reach to the level of herd immunity, we all agree!
P.S. Indigent Americans were the model of herd immunity caused by artificial dissemination of measles, small pox, etc by White/European conquerors and they even tried with tuberculosis. Such sad story!

Thank you, BB.
As concerns Covid-19, the “herd immunity” can be achieved either by compulsory vaccination using efficient and safe vaccine or through raging epidemic/pandemic with excess mortality. Before the era of vaccination, only the second eventuality existed.

Good thought, Cestmir! I buy your rationale!
Only practical solution(?) at this stage seems to be the proper vaccination like polio rather than ‘herd immunity’ which might work only such esteemed, highly educated Swedish people, God bless!
Hope we all would be able to move around again with no restriction as before soon.
BB Lee
P.S. Sadly, the vaccine would not work here in the U.S. because idiotic majority dominates the public opinion so that the vaccine will not be a panacea, and the Corona virus would remain.
