Dream By a Creature / 이한중
I dream of a dream, an impossible dream,
day and night
night and day
I dream of a dream, a beautiful dream,
day and night
night and day
A dream, an impossible dream, a beautiful dream,
day and night
night and day
The dream that I find a passageway
to my Creator,
all loving, all merciful, all forgiving.
The dream that I find the secret pathway to Him,
hidden deeply in my soul.
The dream that I find the bright light
through His son, to the pathway to Him.
Before it's too late.
Before the last day on Earth.

This is a most fascinating discussion on the subject.

Thanks for the thorough information how our brain works on religion.
If I am not mistaken, everybody is different on how one would take it
once exposed to a certain religion. There may be some people who are
very talented(?) on religious work just like on arts or sports, or dum about
religion. It could be dependent on how one’s brain is developed.
Being religious or not may not be a right or wrong question, but religiously
smart or not.

Thank you, Dr. Ohn, for the comment.
Thanks to these researchers like Dr. Andrew Newberg,
we are learning so much in this field of neurotheology,
now a branch of neuroscience.
To a degree these scientists have demystified the mystery of
Buddha's enlightenment, Christian and other religious mystics.
As pointed out somewhere in the above articles, through this kind of
research we may be able to find some clues or ideas in regard to
the prevention of mental illnesses such as depression.
I'm so proud of these researchers in doing what they are doing,
attempting to uncover the neural mechanism of our brain related to
the spiritual instinct of humans.
Our Creator, I believe, indeed put in neuropathways in our brains
so that we yearn for Him, we miss Him, we love Him until we go back to Him.
Jesus said emphatically we all must love Him, Almighty God, Creator, first before our parents.
It seems to make a good sense.

There is no place to be proof from this kind natural diaster
due to mostly recent climate change of our planet!
I wish this contaminated air would be cleared from California soon! KJ
I wrote this religious poem on April 5, 2008,
coinciding with the day of my confirmation,
which I gave to my priest, Father John Gagla.
He was a patient of mine, a friend.
He volunteered to meet me and my wife once a week
for several months to help us be prepared.
For many years, some Christian neuroscientists believed that
our Creator put in a sort of neuropathway in our brain that leads to Him.
I happened to have read a long article on the subject in Readers Digest over 30 years ago.
Ever since, I've been very curious about this possibility, i.e.
Creator inserting a circuitry in the brain of His creature, man and woman.
Every now and then I would find something on the subject.
I would like to say this is the background of this poem.
