CNN)President Joe Biden touted the nation's progress against the coronavirus pandemic Sunday evening as he and first lady Jill Biden hosted their biggest party yet at the White House marking the July Fourth holiday.
"Today, all across this nation we can say with confidence America is coming back together," the President said in remarks outside the White House. "245 years ago, we declared our independence from a distant king.
Today, we are closer than ever to declare our independence from a deadly virus."
The US, Biden said, is seeing "the results of the unity of purpose."
"Together, we're beating the virus. Together, we're breathing life into our economy. Together, we will rescue our people from division and despair. But together, we must do it. Over the past year, we've lived through some of our darkest days," he said. "Now I truly believe -- I give my word as a Biden -- I truly believe we are about to see our brightest future. Folks, this is a special nation."

Independence Day
This weekend our country celebrates the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The last sentence of that document, right before the signatures of our Founding Fathers, contains an important phrase: “with firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence.”
“With firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence”: Someone could say, “That doesn’t sound like a declaration of independence; it sounds like a declaration of dependence.” And they would be right. Our Founding Fathers declared their independence from an oppressive foreign power, but they also declared their dependence on God.
This teaches us an important principle that is almost never stated: freedom and independence are not the same thing. Freedom requires dependence on the only one who can make us free. This is true politically and socially; it is also true (and especially important) morally. The only way we can be free from sin (the most oppressive and tyrannical force that exists) is to be completely dependent on the one who frees us from sin; that is, of course, Our Lord.
May the Lord bless our nation on this weekend, and may we always show our “firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence.”
Gratefully yours,

It certainly was a turning point for our life back to the normal pattern though we just starts again by all means. At least we are now able to meet the people to share the dinner at the restaurants so far!!!
Indeed, I had two groups of visitors to the town for the first time since we were house arrested for COVID, one from Turkey and another from Egypt.
But disappointingly I am still getting the warning, till last week, from the Univ Hosp team to stay out form the crowd to clebrate July 4 because the age over 75 is an exception from this protection by the vaccination.

"As fireworks burst in the air on Sunday, it's not an exaggeration to say that if you had to be anywhere in the world right now, you might choose the United States, given the high availability of vaccines and an economy on the rebound."
