As a cardiologist, I've always been concerned about any drugs
such as those in this discussion and others that prolong the QT interval
that potentiates sudden onset VF and cardiac arrest and death.
Although this side effect is rare, it is something any treating MD should
always be aware of.
Certainly it is obvious that in each case the physician needs to use
his best clinical judgment on the use of these drugs.
Please read the comments. There are some positive experiences by clinicians.
Koreans used hydrochloroquine and zinc. Dr. Zelenk in New York used three
drug cocktail; hydrochloroquine, azithromycin and zinc.
