Foreign reporters often call NK "land of Hermit Kingdom". It was the nickname of 

Chosun that was the completely closed society from outside world. It was the real "

hell Chosun" just like NK now.

Medically and genetically speaking, I for one, as one of physicians,

am all for interracial marriages mixing the genetic pool,

as SK attracts more foreigners,

which, I believe, is a good news.

As the article says, the government perhaps should promote the policy 

by legislating more accommodating laws.

There is no doubt that embracing diversity is essential for the prosperity of a nation. 
Immigration will help to maintain an adequate population increase. It will supply 

the labor force lacking caused by low birth rate.

However, if indigenous people do not treat them equally, the flow of immigration may stop

and most of all immigrants can easily be isolated and disrupt the social order by violence. 
Korean culture is deeply embedded in Confucianism that blood relations are very important. 
Western culture carries Christianity where everybody is the son of God. It is a quite different concept.

All Koreans need not to be Christians to learn how to treat people equally but it is just a basic 

humanity for them not to discriminate the people by the color of the skin or shape of the face or the 

origin of the country

What happened to such racist Koreans since 2,000?  It's a miracle!

Till I left Seoul on Feb 28, 2004 after such agonizing 10 year service at Samsong Med Center, I hated their behavior as a genuine racist, believe me!

I am not telling the lie.  I don't want to bring such painful memories back but that's what I  experienced as a Korean from the U.S.

I do not think Koreans are completely out of  "we" culture yet. If someone does not belong to "Us", 

he or she does not deserve equal treatment. At the same time if one belongs to "us", everybody should be 

equal regardless of one's ability. All of it is based on Confucianism. Offsprings of naturalized Korean citizens 

will suffer from "We" culture. Confucianism ruled Korea longer than 500 years and it won't go away easily.
