Indeed mind boggling!
The truth is that both the patient and the treating doctor are desperate against the virus.
This is literally "an old wild, wild west " scene happening all around us
against the invisible enemies.

A message from a neurosurgeon, age 66, who had contracted the virus.

The story of the neurosurgeon reminds me of the number of the people I contacted through one day at the office yesterday and surprised to the number! The office is NOT the congested downtown main office but the one located in Northern Va as a satellite office used by limited number of the departments/divisions and always quiet with small number of the peoples even in the waiting area.
To minimize the people to encounter, yesteray, after I got off the car, I proceeded directly to the office on the fourth floor using the stairs instead of the elevator and got in to the office through the back/side door to bypass the reception desk. And I spent only 30 minutes at the office to take care of urgent business and got out, even avoiding to stop over at the lunch break room to say hello to the staffs and rushed back to the car, BUT, it was a total of 11 peoples !!! Though I didn't do hand shake and stayed in a reasonable distance, I can imagine how vulnerable to disseminate the bug if I were caught unknowingly.
So far I got home safely- I live in a townhouse- ! But, unconsciously I stopped over at the communal mailbox stand to pick up my mails which were delivered a few second ago by the mailman, I saw leaving, including two packages in card box! Then, I realized the virus will remain a good three days even on the cardbox I heard! How about that?

Thank you for sharing your pertinent diary with us.
My wife bought 500 transparent plastic gloves food handlers use
and asked me to wear them when I picked up the mails yesterday.
For a moment I thought that was not a bad idea, but instead
decided I would just pick them up and stop by garbage bin in the garage
and organize the mail, and wash my hands with soap thereafter.
We also live in a condo, and wearing gloves, I thought, might look too much of being paranoid,
although I may change my mind later.

So, Losartan I take for my blood pressure is one of the treatment trial drugs!?
I heard about the quinine agent but losartan is the first time to learn.
BTW, someone says the virus among Italian is more virulent than the original Wuhan virus. Is that true?
Then, does it mean that the mutation made it stronger against the general rule/principle of the virus evolution to develop better adaptability?
Mind-boggling!
