Chinese political system
As a teen ager, we too were recruited many times by the school system to do
demonstrate for or against something, welcome someone, etc. whether we liked it or not.
I know someone wrote a book "Escape from freedom". People are afraid of "no governing". But, some people believe no government is the best soulution ("anarchist" which has bad reputation). But they (if not united) will become slaves of those united dictatorial human groups, if we look back history.
I just finished readng a book "흉노제국의 이얘기". Chinese chased away 흉노. Those barbarians, per Chinese historians, chased in turn the "western people" from Ukranian/ Ural mountain areas which initiated the movement of German tribes which in turn destroyed Roman Civilization, a republic. They (흉노) elected a strong man as a leader, a democratic process. Just as Mao emerged as a leader, not by popular voting.
Human nature as an evolved animal may still long for a strong dictatorial leader who has a proven record. I hardly hear about the merit of democraticallly elected Dr. Chang Myun, but they adore Park JungHee with his dicatorial background.
I toured the biggest democratic country, India, which is so far behind China.
When people has nothing to eat, they do not care about how a leader is born or being goverened. There was such an admiration for China in India. It is no wonder why there are so many maoist guerillars in India, Castro style. In Nepal, finally maoist joined the goverment and no more airport blocking!
Political system evoloves. China has changed and will change.
I think now is better than than the chaos created by the teen age Red Guards or the situation similar to the post 4.19 era in Korea for average people.
I believe democratic China means collapse of current China, just as Russia went through.
People want independence in Xinzhang and Tibet.
China was conquered/invavaded by 5 barbarian tribes, Mongols, Manchus, Japanese, British ..etc.
We like China devided as multi-independent democratic states as they will become less threat to
neighbors, but I do not know if that is what the most Chinese wants. Chinese may prefer this:
No easy answer!
