With 53% of the fan vote received, No. 1 Inbee Park was selected as the LPGA Player of the Decade. Nearly 12,000 votes were cast over the LPGA’s social platforms to lift the LPGA Tour Hall of Famer ahead of No. 14 Brooke Henderson, who had been buoyed to three upsets by overwhelming support from her fan base at home in Canada.
In the LPGA Player of the Decade bracket, Park advanced from the Kathy Whitworth bracket, where she faced No. 16 Michelle Wie in the Round of 16. She advanced past Wie with 85% of fan votes to face No. 8 Sung Hyun Park in the quarter final. Inbee Park was once again selected by the fans, receiving 50.33% of the vote, and she faced No. 4 Lydia Ko in the LPGA Player of the Decade Final Foursome. Park advanced past Ko with 54% of the vote to face Henderson in the final matchup.
Park earned the No. 1 seed based on her staggering accomplishments on the LPGA Tour between 2010 and 2019. During that time, Park won 18 times, including six major championships, and won the Rolex Player of the Year, Rolex Annika Major Award, Vare Trophy and three-times topped the Money List. Park also made history in 2016, becoming the youngest to qualify for the LPGA Tour Hall of Fame at the age of 27, and won the Olympic gold medal at the Summer games in Rio that same year.

Once again Inbee Park(31) was selected as 'Player of the Decade' in this time
by fans. She beats her fellow finalist, Brooke Henderson to win this once again.
She won this award already by Golf Week and she also was selected No. 1 player
of the Decade in LPGA and PGA by GC. I personally don't like to select this award by
popularity of fans. This should be selected strictly by stats of players perfomances,
not by popularities! Therfore this award should be named as 'Most popular Player
of the Decade' rather than 'Player of the Decade'.
With this opportunity, I would like to give my opinion to Commissioner Whan, who
has done excellant jobs thus far about format of year end CME Group Tour Championship.
LPGA had done point system of Race to CME Globe in each tournament in all year long
and LPGA increased total pot of winner to 1.5 million dollars since last year, but
they erased CME Globe point except using selecting top 30 players of CME Group Tour
Championship and every player has equal chance to win biggest pot of the year disregarding
year long earned CME Globe point, which is totally unfair to especially top 10 point getters.
I agree with one trophy at the end of year, but they shoud honor those top 10 point getters
to give them some advantage points like Fed Ex Cup in PGA. Player should be awrded monetarily
in fair way rather than Las Vegas way! This is my 3 cents opinion! KJ
