We're behind the curve’: U.S. hospitals confront
the challenges of large-scale coronavirus testing
Not so, says physician and epidemiologist Michael Mina, who helps run the diagnostic lab at Brigham
and Women’s Hospital in Boston and has been critical of the Trump administration in blistering tweets
. “The reality is most people will not be able to get a test this week, and most people will not be able
to get a test next week,” Mina says. He also anticipates that there will be—or may already be—a shortage
of reagents needed to run the test kits. He’s not alone. “We are deeply concerned that as the number of tests
increases dramatically over the coming weeks, clinical labs will be unable to deploy them without these
critical components,” the American Society for Microbiology said in a statement it issued yesterday.
CDC Director Robert Redfield echoed that concern yesterday in an interview with Politico, and the agency
on 9 March revised its COVID-19 guidelines to require testing only one patient sample, rather than two,
which will cut the reagent needs in half.
We are screwed up because of bureaucracy. U.S. labs and hospitals cannot do the test if they do not follow
CDC protocols and do not use the agents from overseas that are not approved by the FDA. It is suspicious of
the Trump administration might be insisting to use the product and/or the methods invented in the U.S.. Michael
Pence and Trump often commented on the subject that "The U.S. has the best system in the world. No other country
is better than U.S." The arrogance will pay the enormous price.

I am really fucked up with this Trump clan! I am so mad.
Trump doesn't have a brain but his clans do have at least a shit head so that they should have known
the crisis is coming for more than two months ago with enough warning!!!!!
How in the world such condition could happen? No test kits yet?
I wish they all go to hell!

Social distancing already started without enough testing. Schools and universities are being closed
nationwide. NBA, NCAA basketball tournaments, National Hockey League, Professional baseball
spring camp and other school sporting events are canceled. Disney land is closed. Strangely
enough number of cases confirmed does not alarm as much. What's going on?

U.S. federal response to corona virus, "fiasco")
WHO offered U.S. "testing kits" that are used in other countries. The U.S. refused.
The U.S. wanted to make her own, but it hit bumps here and there. Testing was delayed
unknown days or weeks. Now there are not enough supplies to do all the testing needed
urgently. The confirmed cases with testing are 1,400, but he said that it could be over
10,000. The nation boasting the best health care system in the world does not know how many
patients are infected with the virus. Under the assumption of "a lot", the country chose
to do the drastic measures; "close everything and cancel everything." Then the government
and the congress are deeply concerned with the economy. They are arguing about spending
bill to help the victims. How the hell they know how much is needed? We even don't know
how many patients there are.

PGA and LPGA are cancelled for March and the first week of April. Broadway shows
are cancelled. Disney land and Disney world are cancelled.
