It was an amazing week of golf that ended with three medals being awarded. The sellout crowd was on hand as golf crowned its first Olympic champion in 112 years today in Rio de Janeiro after an epic battle between Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson for the gold. Rose, the 2013 U.S. Open champion, delivered a spectator final round 67 to finish two shots ahead Stenson, the reigning Open champion, in front of large and enthusiastic crowds in the Rio. “Olympic gold medalist – It sounds absolutely incredible,” said the Rose. “I was on that last green, just sort of pinching myself and taking myself back to the quote that I had given about the Olympics all along – that I hoped my resume one day read: ‘multiple major champion and Olympic gold medalist’ and if that happened then I’d be a very, very happy man. I pretty much just need the multiple major now, but for the most part, I’m there on that quote.” For Matt Kuchar, it was an amazing week with a feeling full of pride. He said that at times he knew he was in third place, and he didn’t want to lose that, so he kept pushing forward. “It was a funny position to be in, but while I was out there, playing that back nine, the sense of being an Olympic Medalist really hit me,” said Kuchar. “There were times I kind of had to back off a few times and regather my thoughts and composure to make sure I try to continue to hit good shots and keep making birdies.”

It was first Olympic golf in 112 years and I must say
it was successful except some of top players not being
participated.
It was quite entertaining tournament and adequate TV coverages
by Golf Channel for fans.
After 54th hole,it was pretty much decided gold and silver medal
between Justin Rose of UK and Henrik Stenson of Sweden.
Only bronze medal is up for grabbing for quite few players.
It was epic duel between Rose and Stenson for top 2 spots and it
was not decided until 72nd hole.Eventually Rose of GB prevailed.
Matt Kuchar's 63 on Sunday was good enough for bronze medal, which
made USA fans happy.
All 60 players seemed to feel proud representing their respective
countries and I bet these would be once- in-a- life time experiences
for them and I wish those non-participating top players would
recognize this fact. You gentlemen blew it!
Two Korean players ended up tied with 11th(-6,An Byeong Hun) and
43rd(+2,Wang Jeunghun). KJ
