Age of Coronavirus Deaths
*Death Rate = (number of deaths / number of cases) = probability of dying if infected by the virus(%). This probability differs depending on the age group. The percentages shown below do not have to add up to 100%, as they do NOT represent share of deaths by age group. Rather, it represents, for a person in a given age group, the risk of dying if infected with COVID-19.

In general, relatively few cases are seen among children.

In Japan, authorities may be deliberately limiting tests on general public and
hide the real number of cases. Government health offices(보건소) are the only place
where the test can be done in Japan. So unknown undiagnosed Corona virus infected
patients will show up in the public places more often than otherwise. In South Korea, those
patients walk around in public places in Japan would be diagnosed with mass testing and
kept them in quarantine from public places. The former will end up with uncontrollable
epidemic. The latter will end it in relatively short period of time.

Coronavirus: Ten reasons not to panic

South Korea has been complimented by the experts for the speedy massive
testing such as drive through testing so that it has provided the most reliable
case fatality rate, 0.64% in comparison with 0.1% for the seasonal flu.
However, the 0.64% may go up in the next several weeks according to the experts
because some of the patients diagnosed early may get sicker and die.
No other country including USA, Japan or China was prepared for massive screening
as South Korea was.
I couldn't help feeling the pride as one of Koreans.
Bravo! South Korea!
