What a contrast to hillbillies! The American intellectuals from the foreign origin
are taking over America! That's what white supremacists believe. They are saying
"go back to your country". The whites are from Europe and Americans
unconsciously recognize them as the representation of America. Koreans are
no exception. I am used to hearing "개(그아이)는 미국 애야" in Korean conversation.
Everybody understood that he or she is white. In America, there are Afro-Americans,
Asian Americans, Hispanics, Whites, and Native Indians. There are no Euro-Americans,
but White. The whites think they own the U.S. because we think so. We must believe
that we are Americans. If we are Asian Americans, Whites are Euro-Americans.

I still remember what I heard from a moderator at a national convention of Cardiology
some decades ago that more than 50% of all the original research papers presented were
first authored(done) by the foreign medical school graduates, implying that the bulk of
medical research in cardiovascular disease was being carried out by FMGs, not by
American medical school graduates, more than 90% of whom would go into
medical practice to make money rather than staying full time in research.
My point is that the USA has excelled in science including medicine for so long because of
the foreign intellectuals coming here, and now I believe we are seeing that happening
in politics as well with Obama having proved it in a way as an example.
There are some similarities to Obama's in this story of Kamala Harris' background.
Thank you, Dr. Ohn, for pointing out so clearly those truthful facts.
We can see where those what you call Euro-Americans' fear, including Trump's fear,
comes from. Hope and pray that enough of them are awakened, enlightened ones
to be able to overcome and lead the country in the right path.

From now on, we should call the whites as either Euro Americans, German Americans,
French American, Scandinavian Americans, Balkan Americans, or etc.
Actually, in Canada, they call French Canadians for a long time. Why not in America?
If we and everyone else do that, everyone becomes, by the title, equal.
It may be a small step but it will be a big step into the future.
Incidentally, we may create "Red Neck" Americans if we want to be sarcastic.
Only true Americans with no subtitles should be the native Indians.
We shall call them "Americans" and they happened to be our cousins.
Being their blood relatives of the American Indians, we should be "The Americans" too.

By the way, the original article on this webpage at the top seems to have been written very well.
It nicely explains how Kamala Harris' parents formed a family in America in the early 1960s.
That happened to be the same time when I arrived in America.
Two people, unknown to each other, met in the U.S. thousands of miles away from home
and got married and created an American family.
It is the same story about how my family started.
For a long time, I was thinking about writing a story of the origin of my family
for my children and grandchildren.
I am sure they like to know how they happened to be here today.
They deserve a good well-written story of me and my wife.
The writing style of Ellen Barry of N.Y. Times on "How Kamala Harris’s Immigrant Parents Found
a Home, and Each Other, in a Black Study Group" fits very well with what I like to write
about the origin of my family. I will study further and will figure out how to write my story.

WM, you've got some excellent ideas.
wish you all the best!
This is quite a moving story that resonates a lot
in the hearts of Korean immigrants of the old generation, my contemporaries, I believe.
The ages of Kamala Harris's parents are 82.
The younger generations of immigrants including Koreans
should all be encouraged by the story in whatever they are pursuing
in this land which feeds them with endless dreams and opportunities in their lives.
