The U.S. Is Purging Chinese Cancer Researchers From Top Institutions
The NIH and the FBI are targeting ethnic Chinese scientists, including U.S. citizens,

Once upon a time, China, Japan, and Korea used to be a few under-developed countries in Asia.
Under the assistance of the US, Japan got out of it first into one of the developed nations of the world.
Then Korea and China got out of it by the industrial revolution and worldwide export economy.
Lately, China has gotten even stronger in economic and military forces,
almost matching those powers of the US, Russia, and the European NATO allies.
Now, China, under "bloody red" Xi Jinping, started to play a bad boy as the Soviet Union used to behave.
They try to flex their muscles illegally in Far and Southeast Asia.
See what they did on South Korea when we tried to install the THAAD defense system.
They tried to punish and interfere in South Korea's own defense system for no justifiable reasons.
Naturally, they came into a collision to the US who was peacefully controlling this region.
In doing so, China has made itself as the brazen enemies of the US and small nations of eastern Asia.
These latest circumstances can explain why the US has become worried
about the Chinese influence and invasion to once peaceful Asian and African regions.
Now, once you get into this concept, it won't be difficult to understand the actions of FBI and NIH.
We, especially the Korean Americans, have to think in the shoes of the US.
I believe the actions of FBI and NIH are fully justified,
especially, when the Chinese were are stealing the intellectual "technological" properties of the US
without feeling any shames. Now, they are about to steal medical technology as well
with the cooperation of Chinese nationals working in the US.
Knowing that the nuclear secret was passed on to Red China
by one of the Chinese citizens (or spies) already, it's no big secret that the US pays attention
to the Chinese Americans in the advanced area of cancer research activities in the US.
The Chinese researchers in the US certainly are the moles strategically placed by China.
There is no way we can prove that they are not !!
I think Chinese researchers should be removed from our medical and technology research institutions.
I think Trump is on the right track, for a change (ha, ha, ha,), on this if it came from his policy.
Let's not be fools who may end up helping rude and invasive China.
Don't create and suffer another Soviet Union with our own tax money.
Say "No" to them.
What are your opinions on this?

I have not read the article thoroughly, but the headline suggests
the current political climate that our heroic president Trump created.
Racism is one thing, China bashing is another. These are the “-isms”
that his supporters want. ‘White America first” “Chinese took our jobs
away” are their slogans. Yes, there are problems with Chinese on intellectual
properties. But Trump’s approach is wrong. It is not going to solve the problem
because he is not interested in solving it, but it will isolate America from the
rest of the world and make the very divisive America. Why not English or German
or French or Swedish scientists. When a scientist goes back his or her own country
, one’s knowledge is in one’s head even though one does not carry it in one’s brief case
or computer.

I read the article and added another above commenting on the original report.
It is indeed worrisome to see what's happening.
We will see in 2020 what America does.
We can only watch and hope and pray for the best.

White supremacy is deeply rooted in social evolution theory to justify imperialism
in mid 19th to early 20th century. The theory claims that Europeans are civilized,
Asians are uncivilized, and Africans are babarians. Other races besides whites
are incapable of governing themselves, therefore they have to do it. Indeed making
a colony was not to exploit, but to help(하하).
Willhelm II of Germany came up with the idea of “the yellow peril”. Asians are monsters
like a monkey or ghost and they will kill all the whites if they leave them alone. During Boxer
rebellion in China in the end of 19th century, he advocated it to German soldiers going to China
to fight against Chinese rebels. He told the soldiers that you must kill Chinese like Huns(흉노)
killed us in 5th century. Huns invaded Roman Empire and their merciless killing caused extreme
fear to them. Eventually it led to the end of Western Roman Empire.
For America, Trump has to be removed from the post as soon as possible. I can see the whole
country is going backward.

We all know the stealing of intellectual property has been a major issue for decades especially with Chinese but the extent of stealing seems to reach to the boiling point and it is now national security issue. But I just can't figure out how the hell it suddenly could become a national threat now than before, wondering why they allowed it to come this far till now! To me, it looks too little too late and they now seem to bark at wrong tree.
Poor Chinese American scholar(?) caught in the crossfire! But, Chinese already caught up enough to beat Americano in many aspects so that it looks stupid to me like closing the barn door after the horse bolted away!
Nevertheless, I happened to have quite a unique relationship with Chinese colleagues in China for more than two decades - and still have! and every year I visit China at least once if not twice since I came back from Seoul 2004-, and I see their amazing progress especially through the last decade. Of course, they owe almost everything to the U.S. but at the same time the U.S. also enjoyed/took advantages though the U.S. had helplessly trapped with no way out. So all these sad outcomes are a self-inflicted wound and they shouldn't blame on China every thing but it is rather mea culpa!
However, the stealing is a stealing after all and no matter whatever they excuse with, it is illegal, either to Chinese expatriates maintaining their citizenship of PRC or Chinese Americans with the U.S. citizenship and should be punished properly as the law permits.
But my concern is the mental attitude of Chinese or Korean Americans who abdicated the citizenship of their native country more, not the expatriates, and took the U.S. citizenship by their own decision, but still loyal to the country they abandoned(?), betraying their newly adopted country by their own choice, like Robert Kim. Indeed, they should be punished as harsh as possible not to giving more harm to fellow Korean/Chinese for future. Current policy by idiot Donald should become an opportunity to straighten out their misbehaviors to remain more loyal to their native country than the U.S.
As a matter of fact, such attitudes by ethnic Chinese group pledging their loyalty to China gave so much troubles to many Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia. Indeed, a few close Malaysian colleagues of Malay origin blamed Chinese so bitterly along the racial-based riots they had decades ago, saying that Chinese are the worst than Jews because Jews return the profits to the country where they have made but on contrary, Chinese take all the fortunes they make to their native(?) China, refusing to contribute a penny to the country, local people, they took the profit through the business. That's what is going on in Malaysia and Philippine in particular.
So, I am always skeptical to Chinese on that sense and never feel comfortable with mixed feeling!!!

One of my classmates, a retired urologist, sent me this article in BLOOMBERG BUSINESSWEEK: ‘The U.S. Is Purging Chinese Cancer Researchers From Top Institutions’ with subtitle ‘The NIH and the FBI are targeting ethnic Chinese scientists, including U.S. citizens, searching for a cancer cure’. Here’s the first account of what happened to Xifeng Wu’.
A bit long but worthy to read it through! Otherwise, you might get misled in my opinion.
Indeed, it is not the problem only for Chinese American but Korean American as well.
Innocent yet meaningful scientific collaborations??? You bet!
But both sides have own logic by all means!
I read this article, relatively long to read through over Sunday morning breakfast, and feel worthy to read as the person from foreign origin, with mixed feeling. Indeed, I recall the saga of Robert Kim, famous Korean American who was arrested for spying for ROK and jailed. I honestly couldn’t careless whether he was welcomed by Koreans in South Korea as a national hero but I was furious with such ridiculous reaction by Korean community here in the U.S., one more reason I accuse Koreans, either here in the U.S. or back in ROK, with such irrational way of thinking- should blame the culture???-.
The thing makes me feel uncomfortable is the logic by FBI: “social responsibility” to taxpayers and its donors to protect its intellectual property from any country trying “to take advantage of everything that is aspirational and outstanding in America!!!!
I wonder how you all feel “history may repeat itself in this political climate, and Chinese Americans may be rounded up like Japanese Americans during World War II. The fear and worry is real”.
Concerned,
