It certainly is now a part of American history though most of Koreans here in the U.S. couldn't care less about European immigrants history! Indeed, through personal involvement to Irish-Italian immigrant son who became my first son in law - my eldest daughter got married with her classmate, born in Bronx, NY, whom she met during her Harvard Law School days-. Apparently, my daughter's mother in law from Italian immigrant family met her husband, that is, my daughter's father in law from Irish family during their high school days in same neighborhood and got married so that it was quite unique opportunity for us to learn/watch such striking difference between Italian and Irish in their customs through the wedding reception party. Indeed, we were surprised to find out Southern Italians my son in law's mother side family belongs seem to be quite likable, similar to our own old countryside Koreans, on contrary to Irish culture) custom. Naturally, we dig into this unknown territory for years with great curiosity, including the direct visit/exploration of the place, nearby to Napoli, where my son in law's mother side family came from, while we were in Napoli for the meeting and enjoyed to learn their past history of immigration a lot! I am sure many of you might have such opportunity as well!

Once upon a time, Italian Americans were serious. Mistreated Italians
hailed Moussolini as an hero. Then they had to fight against their cousins
in their parents’ native country.
