김시우 was impressive in all aspects of the game with a gutsy performance.

He made a birdie at 16 to tie the first place followed by another birdie at

17, the island green, to take the lead at the Stadium Course, La Quinta.

He had 19 ft putt at 17, about the same distance my wife made for birdie,

which cost me several hundred dollars for wine at the dinner table with

my high school buddies. That was exactly 7 years ago.

Certainly, this island green at 17 is a memorable hole for my wife and me.

By the way, she used her driver to put the ball about 20 ft from the pin.

Her three playing partners all hit their balls into the water.

The PGA TOUR returns to the U.S. mainland for The American Express in La Quinta, California. This year’s edition will have a different look – only two courses will be used, and amateurs will not play alongside the pros – but a strong field has assembled, highlighted by Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed, Patrick Cantlay, and tournament host Phil Mickelson. Andrew Landry is the defending champion while amateur standout John Augenstein, the runner-up in the 2019 U.S. Amateur, is making his professional debut. There are 13 golfers ranked in the top 50 in the world teeing it up at The American Express including Cantlay, Reed, who won the 2014 American Express, Matthew Wolff, and Sungjae Im.

김시우 played flawless golf today. He made all the birdies he was supposed to make

and a few more today. He did not make any mistake at all for 4 days. It was a perfect 

golf, if there is such a thing. That's why he won. How could anybody beat it?

I felt so sorry to witness the major collapse of 임성재 on the 9th hole yesterday. He 

has to learn when to back it up and when to attack. Kim seems to be more mature 

than Im. Kim is 25 and Im is 22. I think these two young men will carry Korean 

pride in PGA. We will see them winning majors in one of these days. 
 

It was a busy Sunday between golf and football. Tom Brady did it once again. He beat

the odds. Kim is 1,200,600 richer today. It is not too bad for 4 day work.

I have enjoyed thoroughly watching this tournament.
Si-Woo Kim used to be very aggressive player, but
he seemed to be more mature in managing the game.

He has weathered nicely against fierce coming back
from Cantlay(61) and Davis(64) and prevailed at the end.

His second shot at par-5 16th hole landed so softly
on the green to be able to make 2 putts-birdie  and
made clutch 19 feet birdie putt at 17th hole. Those
were keys for championship to me.  KJ

Si-Woo Kim has won 3 PGA wins with this one and jumped up World rankings to
48th and 9th in Fed-Ex Rankings. Any win needed to be lucky as well. Homa's
putting first from the same area at 17th was definitely helpful for Si-Woo's birdie
putt. Belated congratulation to Mrs. Lee's birdie at the 17th hole!!,  Great!!  KJ

We Michiganders are going to root for Tom Brady for sure.

This will be Tom Brady's 10th Super Bowl and he had owned 6 rings.

He sure is a living legend in NFL.
