It is nice to know that Western Amateur is resumed at Point O’ Woods Golf
& Country Club in Benton Harbor, Michigan and it has been in 10 years.
Western Amateur had been 3rd oldest Amateur golf event in the World and
also a stepping stone for promising golf amateur to excel to next echelon.
Tiger Woods, Phil Michelson, Curtis Strange, and Ben Crenshaw were few examples.
I also feel proud it happens again in Michigan!
Thanks for the information! Dr. Lee! KJ

Hello, fellow Michiganian Dr. Hwang,
Thank you for the comment.
All the Michiganians including myself would say
we don't realize how good Michigan golf courses are
until we go out of the state.
I certainly miss them no matter how good they think
the golf courses are here in CA.

I agree with you that we have share of well groomed
beautiful golf courses here in Michigan! KJ
The western amateur championship, the third oldest after British and
US amateur championships, started in Benton Harbor, Michigan
in 1899, and is coming back at the original golf course.
The past champions are "who's whos" in golf.
In old days of golf the amateur champions were more respected than
the pro golfers, we know.
I, who calls Michigan a second homeland after Korea, am glad
to show the part of Michigan's rich golfing history.
