Yes, they try to get donations from viewers. Free Opera is the only way they can get donations.
During the Home Gala from all over the world, some singers said finally she gets to sing a song and so happy.
They want their voices heard. I think financially it takes an enormous amount to run the Metropolitan Opera.
I think unless they got support from the government, it will be difficult.
My donation is so small. I love the opera. I hope they survive.
Thank you for your concern.
What happens to the singers, stage controllers, parking attendants, janitors
and all other employees of the Metropolitan Opera while the free performances are going on?
Do they get paid? Or do they get laid off or fired?
I am always worried about classical musicians and their supporters.
They tend to get hungry even in normal times. I hope they don't go starving.
