That's exactly what I meant. I decided to keep my medical license
active after retirement to prescribe to myself and my family.
There is no way to take care of your sickness on time in America without
visiting emergency room. It is a nightmare to wait for your turn in the ER
not to mention the high price of the visit.
Common cold, viral infections, diarrhea, indigestion and the early stage of
something serious are not going to be taken care of by primary doctors.
In America, the primary doctors office machine will direct you to ER if you
call them when you are sick.
Nowadays, single doctor primary care offices are nonexistent. They are part of
huge managed care system and the corporation assigns so many patients to one
doctor and direct them not to refer patients to specialists to maximize their profits.
It just sucks. In the name of cutting the health care spending, all out profit taking
is out of control. It is not "cutting the health care spending", but it is profit taking
by insurance companies, corporations, hospitals and doctors.
Doc, I know what you are trying to say.
Just forget about seeing my own family doctor!!
For a regular appointment, I have to wait a month or two.
God bless our medical system.
