Millions of Americans tuned in to see Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton face off in the second presidential debate of 2016. But it wasn’t just Americans who were watching on Sunday: Politicians and commentators around the world took notice too.
Other than Brexit leader Nigel Farage, who said Trump performed “like a silverback gorilla,” most of the reviews of the GOP nominee weren’t great.
Paul McGeough, chief foreign correspondent for the Sydney Morning Herald, said that Trump came off as “angry, aggressive, accusatory and conspiratorial.”
U.K. Labour MP Chris Bryant criticized Trump’s threats to throw Clinton in jail. Only in corrupt pretend democracies does a candidate for President threaten to imprison his opponent. Trump doesn't believe in rule of law.
Australian Senator Helen Polley said that Trump “has clearly demonstrated why he should never be the President.” What an embarrassment! No policy details just deflection and more deflection.
Another Australian senator, Lisa Singh, noted that Clinton looked “presidential and intelligent” compared to the GOP nominee.
Conservative U.K. MP George Freeman said it was “extraordinary” that some Americans are still taking Trump seriously. Extraordinary. Somehow Trump appears still to be in the race as a serious candidate for President. A massive failure of mainstream politics.
Former Mexican President Vicente Fox, an outspoken Trump critic, offered praise for Clinton while panning the GOP nominee. “We’re a country founded on religious freedom” – Hillary Clinton on tonight’s debate. Donald Trump’s speech only creates chaos.
After Trump dissed Canada’s health care system, Buzz Feed Canada begged to him to “leave us out of this.”
New Zealand MP David Cunliffe didn’t name names, but his review of Sunday’s debate kind of says it all: Watched the second Clinton Trump debate. Gripping. One of them is fit to be President. The other one is a buffoon.

I totally agree with your assessment. As I go to English speaking church, I often hear that some of my Christian friends talk just like Trump.Problem is that they do not know what they are talking about, they do not know if they are hurting their friends sitting not far away, and they think that they own this country. I am saying that those guys are decent but very ignorant. They will not hurt us as Trump can never lead this country.I believe that, in this country, the good ones will prevail and we will get better despite all the distractions.
