I do not think military power carries its weight in present days as much as during the Cold War era or before.

Economic and soft power exerts much more influence on other countries. Of course, economic prosperity 

has to be backed up by strong defense. But the U.S. defense budget is extremely wasteful.

She has been fighting unjustifiable wars and spending too much money on stockpiling unnecessary weapons.

Trump decided to make more nuclear weapons that will never be used.

It contributes to an astronomical amount of federal budget deficit. It always threatens economic stability.

Nowadays it is a bad scenario if the U. S. becomes No. 1 military power with No.2 economic power.

I am afraid the U.S. military is like the U.S. health care system that was helpless to fight against COVID 19. 
 

I do not think any country in the world will ask the U.S. for how to control pandemic any more.
The virus and Trump destroyed the reputation of the U.S. public health system. It eroded the U.S.

exceptionalism some and there may be more to come unless the U.S. gets rid of the current leadership;

Trump and Republicans. How could the U.S. pullout from WHO in the midst of pandemic?

How could the U.S. ignore global warming when the whole world has been alarmed by it?

In the midst of surging new cases, President inquires local governments to open schools and the secretary

of education said that there is no scientific evidence that opening schools increase COVID 19 cases.

President continues to supersede experts' opinions and CDC recommendations on COVID19.

How could other countries look up the U.S. for anything?

Pax Americana is now over, though sadly it couldn't reach even a half-century

(many counts NOT from the end of WWII but from the end of cold war with Soviet).

Why?  Because m-fucker Trump and human garbage Trumpist/Republicans ruined the country!

Yes, I am a pessimist but all the facts/evidence we do see every day speak loud! MAGA?  That is shit!

So sad we all struggled to pay back what we owe to this country to allow us to settle

Koreans should have not been under two governments. Other nations treat the two as two countries, but 

each side does not recognize as two separate nations. The Koreans live in the north never use the term 

"북한, 남한, 한국". The ones who live in the south never call themselves as 남조선 사람. They never say North 

Korea is 북조선. For Koreans reside in the north, South Korea is 남조선 and North Korea is 북조선. 

All Koreans believe they should have lived in one country,  대한민국 or 조선민주주의인민공화국 or other.

I think it is time to declare "non-interference on Korean unification" to the world. 문재인 and 

김정은 should declare it together in the UN general assembly. And Koreans should start the exchange 

regardless of UN sanctions. It is a bold move but it is an essential first step for the unification.
