October 3rd! We used to celebrate this day and the 9th as two important historical celebrations

while we were growing up in Korea. I wonder how they mark theses days now.

The temperature was 56F with overcast here in Bloomington, Minnesota where I am.

Not scary yet. I wrapped around my neck with an old wool scarf and crossed the road

to the Normandale Lake to take a walk.

Almost reaching two months living here, I consider this move as my second immigrating move,

first from Korea in 1969, then this in 2019 from Ohio.

Looking back, the impact of the move from Korea was enormous without any exaggeration,

but somehow I accepted immigrating to US without reasoning too much.

We moved to make our young living better here under the vague promise of returning home

whenever we are ready. We believed we had choice. Besides, we were busy living.

We never thought we were poor or deprived or lesser. Unavailability of Korean food in Youngstown,

Ohio in 1969 couldn't be any issue in our robust spirit.

50 years later, we came here, Minneapolis, Minnesota where our two daughters and their families

made home and building their lives. We joined them here. No hesitation, no stumbling stones.

We immigrated to Minnesota from Ohio Life. Our second departure from our familiar world,

our 50 years of home, Ohio.

Whenever my husband wears his Buckeye jacket, which he often does, he is greeted with cheers

for Buckeyes and it makes him happy and proud.

Everybody says, once Buckeyes, forever Buckeyes!

Are we going to be Vikings someday?

Yesterday in Seoul, citizens filled the street making a peaceful demonstration against

the current government. People are afraid the country leans towards too far to left to return.

On the 28th of September we drove to Chicago for the celebration of our old friends,

the Berger's 50th anniversary/80th birthday and took the advantage of being in Chicago

and went to see the musical "Hamilton" at the CIBC Theatre.

Then, on the threshold of the October, 2019, I repeat, "Time Flies by!"!

So far the weather against which everyone makes warning to us is not much different

from what we've used to last 50 years in Ohio.

Cold or not, it comes as a package as any marriage.

So far, we find this neck of wood is lovely!

On coming Sunday, we will be standing on the road side

watching our 16 year old granddaughter running her first Minneapolis Marathon.

Strangely, having families around makes us feel like being back HOME!
