It's not that the U.S. does not know the North will not give it up.

The U.S. fully knows about it. That's why there has been no further negotiation

since the last official meeting. For the U.S., there's no further hope of denuclearization.

The U.S. has completely run out of any further tricks to show. Dead end !!

But they don't want to say that they've run out of any further strategies.

To confess the world that they got into the "helpless dead-end" will be really a shameful thing

for the U.S. to accept. So, the U.S. is just asking the North the same thing to save their face.

What else can you think of?

The U.S. has been "burned" by the Asian countries, no matter how poor and ill-equipped

they might have been. They have never won anything, e.g. Vietnam, North Korea, China,

Afghanistan, and the Mid-East. I think the U.S. will never raise their courage up

and invade North Korea that happened to be the most dreadful enemy they ever encountered.

This may be the reason why South Koreans are crazy to keep Trump for another 4 years.

When Trump walked out of the White House, even a tiny thread of hope for unified Korea

had vaporized. We may have to wait for another 100 years for another miracle. Did you know?

Now, the Moon's regime is so much hated but it may be the only hope (I am no communist.) 

for unified Korea. Koreans have been barking at the moon (celestial, not the earthly "Moon".)

for so long that they don't know what's more realistic for the hope of unified Korea.
