Russia says it is pulling back some of its troops from near Ukraine after a build-up raised fears of an invasion.

The defense ministry said that large-scale drills continued but that some units were returning to their bases.

As much as the US wanted a pro-American government in Iraq in 2003,

Putin wants a pro-Russian government in Ukraine. How ridiculous the American invasion

of Iraq was for Russians then perhaps mirrors Russian meddling in Ukraine now.

The whole world knows economic sanctions will not work. It did not do much for 

Iran, North Korea, and Russia. The only way to fend off Putin's aggression is to unite the military 

might of U.S. and NATO forces. Ukraine must clean up corruption and unite people.

They are corrupted and divided now. 

We may know by tomorrow, the Wednesday??

Just wonder what the U.S. or NATO can do if Russians enter Ukraine?

Should a Russian invasion of Ukraine occur, it must come at such a high cost to the Kremlin as to deter others from contemplating a similar course of action.

However, expectations for what imposing economic costs can achieve must be kept in check. Economic sanctions after 2014, for instance, were never going to prompt Russia to give Crimea back to Ukraine. Likewise, new sanctions will not solve the problem of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Nevertheless, it is critical that there be clear and identifiable costs to Russia’s aggressive actions, and sanctions are an incredibly useful tool for imposing those costs.

It seems to me that the possibility of the Russian invasion of Ukraine is low this time,

but Putin's campaign for the Russian subjugation of Ukraine will continue for some time.

Putin's efforts to expand Russian territory to old Soviet borders increase his popularity 

internally and justify his lifetime dictatorship. Russians' sentiment about Ukraine

supports Putin's campaign to include Ukraine in Russian territory. Historically

many Russians believe that Ukraine is part of Russia and shouldn't have given up 

when the Soviet Union ended. Internally western Ukraine speaks Ukrainian and pro-West

and people in the east speak Russian and are pro-Russian. I think she will be divided into two

at the end of the day.
