어제 Wall Street Journal은 일본이 1890년에 메이지 천황이 포고한 "교육 지침"을 일본의 전통적인 미덕을 찾기 위해서 다시 학생들에게
가르치기로 했다고 보도 했습니다.
1. Be filial to your parents(부모 공경 하고)
2. Be affectionate to your brothers and sisters(형제간에 우애 하며)
3. Be harmonious as husbands and wives(부부 간에 사이 좋게 지내고)
4. Trust and be trusted by your friends(신의 지키 면서)
5. Bear yourself in modesty and mderation(검소하게 살 지어다)
6. Extend your benevolence to all(남에게 친철하게 대하고)
7. Devote yourself to learning and gain an occupation(헌신적으로 배워서 직업에 정진하고)
8. Acquire knowledge and deveolp your talent(지식을 늘여서 재능을 발전 시키고)
9. Improve your character(성격을 향상시키고)

이왕 정당한 보상을 논의하자면 생존한 희생자와 타계한 희생자를 모두 보상했어야 하여야 될텐데, 8 million dollars에 해결을 보았다는 점은 구걸금액으로 보입니다. 그 정도의 금액은 있으나마나 한 금액입니다. 언젠가 박대통령이 유엔에 와서 어떤 기금을 위해서 몇년에 걸쳐 20 billion dollars 기증하겠다고 해서 놀랐는데 남에게 그렇게 후한 대통령이 어찌 위안부 할머니의 보상에 그걸 보상액이라고 덥석 받았다니 한심한 처사입니다. 그까짓 아베의 몇 마디 말 장난은 별 의미도 없지요. 참담합니다. -

Why should I stay silent about it?Please don't get overtaken by the agreement.
We, the people, have not made any agreement with Japan.It's going to be a long long time before we can ever accept Japanese as friends.
Probably behind the scene, Korea was given some kind of assurance from U.S. as well.
I think that's why President Park took the miserably ridiculous offer.

저도 일본 방분 중 일본인들을 대해 보고, 미국내에서도 더러 경험해 봅니다만, 황 규정선배님같은 의아심을 많이 갖게 합니다. 저렇게 나약하고 선하게 보이는 사람들이 어떻게..?, 그리고 다른 한국 사람들 한 테 물어 보면, "속과 겉이 다르다"는 이야기를 많이 들었습니다. 위 web site 에서 "일본인들의 근성" 7.을 보면
... 1년 정도 사귀면 착한 사람들 같다. 3 년이상 사귀면 그들의 웃음속에 비수를 느낀다. 5년이상 사귀면 겉과 속이 다르 다는 것을 느낀다. 10 년 이상 사귀면 일정한 거리를 두고 사귀어야 한다는 것을 느낀다. 그들의 악과 선을 조금이나마 설명해 주는 같습니다.
일본(인)의 양면성을 이해할수 없습니다.
일본을 방문해보면 정갈하고 검소하며 효율적인 호텔,친절한 사람들,깨끗하고 잘정돈된거리,
자신의 웰빙에 앖선 친환경 정책,그리고 쓰나미때 뉴스에서본 주민들의 침착하고 헌신적인
행동들----.
반면에
이차대전때의 천인공로할 반인류적 행동들에대한 진정어린 사과하나 없는 철면피의 행동들,
국제 야구대회나 figure skating에서 자국기업들의 main sponsorship을 빙자로 자국의 국격을
떨어 트리는 행동들,어쩌면 경제에 비해 아직도 일등국가는 못되는 그런행동들----. 규정
