A time ago in wondrous Australia, there lived a very beautiful yet melancholy bird. He lived in a dense old tree beside a river. All day, the Cockatiel sat as still as steel. But in the evening, he would leap along from branch to branch trying to settle in for the night. His thoughts were as deep as the night sky... "Sad soul, So sad My soul. This raw heart, it flows On like an endless river Polluted with pain. Singe my soul this angst, Fading dark life's desires Like land starved of rain."

This book also comes in "Kindle" edition at $9.99 including wireless delivery.

A Book About Positive Change
October 12, 2010
By Gina Meyers (a reader)

Artist Liz Longo answers a lot of questions in her book of poetry, in a simple, yet thought provoking way. Ms. Longo uses birds as having human like personalities and qualities and this resonates on many levels. Ms. Longo states and maintains that, "The expression in art forms reveals a beautiful aspect and depth of the soul humanity indeed has. We can collaborate peace, a masterpeace, if we are supportive of our needs for existence. We are reviving the health of the physical global environment yet people too can renew to bring the world less chaos. People can calm themselves. I hope this book is a catalyst for people to look within."

A beautiful statement and one that needs to be spread to all of humanity.

A letter from the author
to our website

I am a patient of Joon J. Bang, M.D., P.C.  in New York for a long time now.   I gave a copy of my recently released first book to Dr. Bang.  He suggested I forward an excerpt to you for (potential) use on your website.

A Bird and Its Albatross: A Tale of Renewal (Serendipity Media Press 2010) is told in verse and features paintings of birds of Australia. "Birds fly, so too our thoughts...." . Below is a sonnet (top) and a four line verse. The poetry would appear the right of the illustration below - though in the image is a night scene.

An excerpt from A Bird and Its Albatross: A Tale of Renewal

"We are ourselves and a vast collective,
      Each one entity quite imperative,
The core of your entity is simply yourself,
The force of nature is beauty and irony itself,
Complex minds feed our thoughts near definitive,
Cause of the mind bear an effect - how substantive?
Simple green plants feed the air to feed - a self,
What have you placed upon others and yourself?
What burden is this - makes you evocative?
Query love, it is not there to hate,
Query sadness, a shame to let linger,
      Memories...search and contemplate,
Recall the bird - as nature’s sole singer,
Trees gone yet this thrives, breathes, can captivate,
May the beauty of our way ever linger.

In time this tug of war will fade to civility,
As one meets life with cordial affability.
      As new cycles of compassion
      replace old cycles of duress.”
