Thank you Dr. Hwang for staying away from the TV screen !!
I did my duty by doing the same and worked on my yard and did some other errands until the last two holes.
By then, it was obvious that, even with my participation, Na Yeon was going to win.
No sweats any more.
Good thing I wasn't at the screen when she made a triple bogey at the 10th hole.
Therefore, it wasn't my fault.
However, she recovered nicely, erasing all the deficit in my absence at the TV screen.
I will take the credit for that !!
A heart-breaking story today:
Na-Yeon's family was not well financially in the beginning.
Her father was a golfer who tried to be a golf pro but didn't make it.
Her parents traveled together in her tournaments.
Many times, they rented only one hotel room where Na-Yeon and her mother slept
while her father slept in the car.
Lately, I assume they are not doing that any more.
My congratulations to Amy Yang who came in second as only one of the two who finished under par.
The Blackwolf Run course must have been a really tough course.
Ilhee Lee came in 4th.
Seri Pak and Inbee Park came in 9th together.
The defending champion, So Yeon Ryu came in 14th today.
At the finish line as Na-Yeon Choi was making her winning putt,
Seri Pak (9th today) was waiting there at the greenside, holding a champaigne bottle in her hands.
The story goes back to the ancient time when Na-Yeon Choi was watching Seri Pak
winning the US Women's Open in 1998 at the very same Blackwolf Run Golf Course.
Na-Yeon was only 10 years old then.
What a crossing of the fate ! What goes around comes around.
From LPGA.com
Na Yeon Choi was just 10-years-old when she watched Se Ri Pak make U.S. Women's Open history
at Blackwolf Run in 1998. It was a win that caused a surge of inspiration in young women in South Korean
to pursue a career in professional golf. Choi's victory only solidifies that.
Today, she stands on the 18th green hoisting the same trophy as her role model lifted just 14 years ago.

When Sukjoo and I finished 18 holes and came in the club house,
she was -6 and at 14th hole. Amy Yang was -3, and Sandra Gal +1.
I enjoyed the rest of her game.
She appeared so relaxed.
What a pride we Koreans are feeling for Na-Yeon and Amy,
the only two players who are subpar.
Yani Tseng was +14.
Na-Yeon conquered the difficult, infamous Pete Dye course.
I have some golf balls with blackwolf mark on my son-in- law brought to me.
He played there, not me.
Those days we used to look for challenging courses, I believe, are over.
The story WM is saying is similar to Mi Hyun Kim's and some others' from Korea.
We know now where her determination and discipline comes.

What a Day Today! Why? These are the Reasons.
1. I met my two grandchildren from Hong Kong,
Elliot & Amber - their mother, Michelle. All healthy,
first of all, and Amber was walking, recognizing me
as her Grandfather which I at last accepted the title
- Grandfather.
2. I watched CH 4 to see Final Round of 67th US Women's
Open. Na-Yeon Choi made me Happy all afternoon leading
the tournament. Amy Yang was right behind her at -3 and
it was Security, if Na-Yeon crumbles, Amy - another Korean
Woman Golfer would be the Champion. You can say it was
part of my Sports Nationalism, I assume - with No Doubt.
PS; a)Total purse - $3.25 million and Na-Yeon took home
$585,000. No more one single motel room for three
family members - any more!
b) The World is Flat and connected.
The news was on Korean Internet instaneously and SBS TV
was reporting right after Na-Yeon won.
3. I just got phone call from Dr. Ahn Byoung-il(69) living
in Sothern California. Informed me another our friend,
lived in Chicago passed away -two in a row after Dr. Kim
Jae-wook(69). His name is Dr. Shin Gi-jae(69).
(what's happening here? they leave our world, one by one
...two in a row...)

I have just finished watching taped telecast of 67th US Open of LPGA after
finishing 18 holes of golf myself.
First of all, Thanks for staying away from TV during most of tournament! WM!
I will give some credit to you for Na Yeon's victory today, ha,ha.
Seriously I think her lay back type of personality might have saved her today.
I did not see any change of her facial expression after the disaster at 10th.
and then, right back to have birdie at 11th was totally amazing.
Second shot from deep rough and making rather long par putt at 12th
was unbelievable and that was the end of blockage from her title.
Tee shot at 13th was lucky but they said you should be good to be lucky!
US Open is considered the toughest tournament because the course is
traditionally long, narrow (not this time though), deep rough, and extremely
fast green.
Korean dominance of recent US Open (4 wins during past 5 years) reflects
the depth and talent pool of great Korean players, whom I am totally proud of. KJ

Na Yeon Choi's victory of US Open yesterday changed her position in LPGA in 2012 as follows.
1. Moving from 5th to 2nd in Rolex Woman's World Golf Ranking.
2. Moving to 5th place in Rolex Player of the year race.(earns 60 pts to total of 92 pts.)
3. Moving to 4th place in 2012 LPGA official money list.(994,908)
Her 6th LPGA win and 11th worldwide win. KJ

Choi Na-Yeon is the Best Woman Golfer in the world at the moment.
Right?
But do you know she is sharing her fortune with others, esp. children?
If not, please, visit Google's search and type simply - "Choi Na-Yeon and
Charity", or '"Na Yeon Choi Delights Children at Annual Hospital Charity
Magic Show; Helps Establish Computer Room".
You'll find how Wonderful Human-being she is at age of 24. Thanks.

Ochoa foundation
(I like to get some credit out of this victory,ha,ha.)
