It was a fun game to watch especially for Korean fans.

Again dominance of LPGA Majors by 태극낭자군 has been
shown throughout the tournament.

After 54 holes, top 4 players were Korean players

and it was tough to beat 4 Korean players to become Champion.

Golf is again a very cruel game! Hyo Joo Kim had led until 14th hole

and the roof was fallen to Hyo Joo making triple bogey

and that plus Jin Young's game-clinching birdie at 17th hole made the difference.

With this win, Jin Young Ko became Rolex World Ranking No.1 again

and leads most of all stats including Player of the year and Annika major Award etc.

Jin Young's steady tee to green plays and total relaxation
throughout the tournament was key to win to me.

태극낭자군 won 3 out of 4 Majors this year thus far and 11 wins out of last 20 tournaments!

Let's give big hands to Champion Jin Young Ko and 태극낭자군! KJ

It was fun to watch “Korean dominance of the tournament”. Even commentators could not 

deny it. 김효주, 박성현, 고진영 have the best swing in the world. Their physiques are best 

fit for the sports. They look sporty and modern. What difference it can make, when they are 

nurtured by good foods and environment! It shows nation’s strength. 

Inbee Park had a legitimate chance of achieving career golden super-grand slam,

but she ruined that chance due to her slow start on Sunday.

Jin Young Ko is probably top female golfer in LPGA at this moment

regarding golfing ability from tee to putting on the green and golf course management.

Also, I was impressed by her courage to having a post-game interview

without a translator and she was getting improved a lot.

No doubt

Sung Hyun Park and Jin Young Ko are 2 best players
in LPGA at this time and they will lead 태극 낭자군
for the time being.

I feel bad to dejected Hyo Joo Kim, who missed a golden
chance to win Major due to one very unlucky mishap.

태극낭자군 have my life enjoyable in these days by sure
and I certainly thank them for this!    KJ

Ko’s patience payed off. The rainy wet condition made the course a lot longer

than usual. The drivers hit to the left of the fairway that’s sloped left to right

did not bring the ball to the middle of the fairway. The draw became difficult 

because of the wet lie and the fade was exaggerated. On the 14th hole, H.j. Kim faced

the ball with buried lie very close to the edge of the steep and tall bunker and the 

pin is tucked to the bunker. And the sand got some moisture in it, too. She could not 

get the ball on the green. Perhaps the ball landed one inch short of the green and rolled 

back to the trap. But it is not end of her carrier. She can do it some other time when her 

luck comes back.

As Judy Rankins, commentator mentioned, the shot that required her ball to get out of the bunker

was that her blade should be staying in the bunker without a following through "up and out" 

and hitting as hard as she could.

Maybe she did not hit hard enough to get out of the bunker.

It was a matter of luck sometimes even at the pro-level to get the right result.

Who knows? Golf God might raise her hand next time! KJ

Fortunate to be a witness
I’m sitting here on a Monday with a bit of exhaustion, having been glued to the TV over the weekend by thrilling golf. Brooks Koepka was amazing.

But given some of the comments in this space of late, I would simply say that if one has not seen Jin Young Ko play, then a treat has been missed (“Keeping score,” July 29). Her swing is simple and beautiful. Her cool under pressure is Koepka-like. And her record this season is dominating. I simply felt lucky to be able to see it.
