PBS: The Hour; official trailer

Ironically, the second season begins as BBC News finds itself embroiled in a reporting scandal that would serve nicely as an A-plot for the show. “The Hour” holds, as most journalism-based theater does, that hard-working reporters are too often undone by keepers who cower behind a Potemkin village of “standards” and “policy” in an effort to avoid controversy — unless controversy pays the bills, in which case they manufacture it.

Ukraine Isn't the first time - Russian Regime Change Hungary 1956
In 1956, two crises were happening at the same time in Egypt and Hungary.
CIA had given false promises to Hungarian rebels to help them to fight
against Soviet troops even though the U.S. and the West had no intentions
to involve in Hungarian revolution because they are pretty much tied up
in the Suez and Egypt.
Britain and France somehow hid the fact that they lured Israel to attack
Egypt instead of themselves, and the U.S. and Soviets got together against them.
They also kept it secret that they had to stop the war and were defeated by
Egypt led by Nasser for years. However, the west realized that the world
affair cannot be solved without the leadership of the United States. The truth
came out years later through the revelation of the secret documents.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine is quite similar to the Hungarian situation in 1956.
But there is no Warsaw pact and NATO is stronger than ever.
And the U.S. is willing to help Ukraine. Russia is weaker than the Soviets in 1956.
