Robert De Niro was recently invited to give the graduation speech to the 2015 class at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts — a large audience that included photography students. What he had to say has caused quite a stir.“Tisch graduates, you made it,” De Niro began. Then, with a pause, he continued: “And, you’re f**ked.” “When it comes to the arts, passion should always trump commonse nse,” De Niro says. “You weren’t just following dreams, you were reaching for your destiny. You’re a dancer, a singer, a choreogr apher, musician, a filmmaker, a writer, a photographer, a director, a producer, an actor, an artist. Yeah, you’re f**ked.” De Niro shared some thoughts on facing rejection in the arts world:On this day of triumphantly graduating, a new door is opening for you: a door to a lifetime of rejection. It’s inevitable. It’s what graduates call the real world […] Rejection might sting but my feeling is that often it has very little to do with you. When you’re auditioning or pitching, the director or producer or investor may have something or someone different in mind. That’s just how it is.He also offered some words on taking risks in the face of failure:It’s difficult for me to come with advice for you who have already set upon your life’s work, but I can tell you some other things I tell my own children […] I tell them don’t be afraid to fail. I urge them to take chances, to keep an open mind, to welcome new experiences and new ideas. I tell them that if you don’t go, you’ll never know. You just have to be bold and go out there and take your chances.“By the way, there will be times when your best isn’t your good enough,” the renowned actor says. “There can be many reasons for this, but as long as you give your best you’ll be OK.” via TIME and DIYP |

Robert De Niro starred in many movies as you know, the best and memorable
movie he starred to me was "Once Upon A Time in America (1984)".
I want to share with you, sunbaenim, the famous soundtrack of the movie
- "Deborah's Theme" composed by Ennio Morricone.

Thanks for your informative inputs! Dr. Bang!
De Niro is sure one of great actors in our time and one of my favorites as well.
Weather in Michigan has been confusing as usual! One day was real summery
and the other day was almost like autumn.
However
We couldn't complain considering extreme drought or devastating flood in some part of country. KJ

If Robert DeNiro "openly" says "F" word in NY University graduaton ceremony, it seems to be OK.
But when "I" said a natural "F" word, just like in our normal conversation, in this website of ours,
I was scolded sternly as if I had commited a heinous crime.
Anyone remember the incident?
Is it that Robert is a famous enough to say anything he wants and be blindly forgiven?
Was it because I was not famous enough to be forgiven and tolerated?
This supposedly civilized society is rigged with double standards. Ha, ha, ha....
I rest my case.
Some one said ,Baseball is sport of failure.
Because,
Dreams of every ballplayers are hitting over .400 mark, which legendary Ted Williams made one time.
But
Even that stat you failed 6 out of 10 times, which we considered failure in just about any other fields.
This 16 minutes Graduation Speech by Robert De Niro was funny and excellent although he used 4 letter
words twice.
De Niro said Art fields are epitomized as "Reject(failure)"( like Baseball),but as long as you have passions, there are
always "Next". KJ
