Maybe, you are biased because she is from Pottsmouth, Kentucky-Ohio border???ㅎㅎ?.
Cardiac surgeons are notorious for bad behaviour. I must confess I screamed at nurses few times
during my career, hopefully much less than average heart surgeons.
In the pursuit of perfect professional outcome within the limited time and and resources, whether it is
heart surgery or art, music, we are pressured to prevent, corrrect the untoward courses
of our efforts ASAP, at which time we, the leaders of the team frequently end up screaming
at the members of the team.
In Operating room, it has been much more permissive of such behaviours for many years.
But time has changed. These days, society does not tolerate. Probably, this is what happened to her.
I don't know what the right answer should be as to how much the society should allow those things,
because frequently the intent may not be malicious. And do not want to editorialize such matters.
Even in Korea, where such behaviours tolerated and covered under the rug much more frequently
than USA,especially in surgical area, such behaviours are now frequently target of disciplinary actions
in many hospitals.
Compared with USA, I believe it is a long way to go yet for such matters, but things are changing
here in Korea as well. Within last couple of months, I am aware of disciplinary committee actions
on going for such matters in 2-3 major medical institutions here.
Even an 음치 like me gets arrogant once in a while,
for such a wonderful singer like Kathleen, shouldn't she deserve to be a bit arrogant and rough?
On some of her videos, she sort of looks like a narrow-faced, younger, and slender version of Oprah Winfrey.
If you agree on her likeness to Oprah, she has to be so selt-confident and arrogant !!
Her voice has a nicely controlled, quiet, and gentle tone,
not like some of those singers who raise 돼지 목따는 소리 every time they sing.
A lot of male classic singers seem to try to make as bigger and louder sounds as they can possibly produce.
But I guess what counts is not the loud sound but it's the beautiful sound.
If you get to listen to tenors or baritones, please try to remember what I said here.
See, I am least qualified to say such things. That's because I am arrogant.
Or is MET running our of female singers?
I thought there are endless supplies of sopranos in the world
and we shall never run out of them.
