For year to date, over 100,000 people died due to drug overdose in U.S..

Among those, over 70% are opioid overdose. Fentanyl is the major offender

replacing Heroin and othe prescription opioids. It is more than the deaths

due to MVA or gun shot. 

Fentanyl is one of the most commonly administered agents during anesthesia

not only in U.S. but other countries in the world. It is strong but short acting.

It had been known that the addicts shied away from it because it does not stay

in the system very long. I think one has to take a large dose to get a prolonged 

euphoria. 

Prosperous drug cartels in South America including Mexico are basically

funded by U.S. citizens who buy and use drugs. Now, U.S. citizens visit

Mexico to buy drugs and bring back to U.S. to sell them or use it for themselves. 

America is not very healthy as it should be. It you go to San Francisco or Los Angeles

or other major cities in California, they are overwhelmed by homeless people.

A lot of them are suffering from a mental illness or drug addiction.

There are so many uninsured people who can not get a medical care because 

it is extremely expensive without a coverage. Even if one has the insurance, 

copayment is too high to afford it for many people. 

The perspectives of America probably incentivise the behavior of South America

and America has to take care of herself for the good of all.
