in films(drama)”.

어제 저도 TV로 보았는데 같은 한국인으로 자랑스럽게 생각합니다.

동양인은 거의 찾아볼수 없는 미국 연예계에서 Golden Globe라는
큰 행사의 MC로 선택된것 자체만해도 놀라운 일이다. 처음하는지라
잘 담금질되고 매끄러운맛은 없어도 파트너와 호흡도 잘맞고 무었보다도
전체 진행을 휘어잡어가는 카리스마가 돋보여 보기 좋았다.

특히 TV series 드라마 부분 여우 주연상을 받는순간 그간 그녀의
피나는 노력을 볼수 있으며 이날 참석하여 축하해주는 부모님에게 '아빠,
엄마! 사랑해요!'라고 한국말로 또렸이할때 같은 한국인으로 가슴 뿌듯하였다.

Sandra Oh는 그저 TV series,'Grey's Anatomy'에 출연하는
한국계 여배우 정도로 알고 있어서 인터넷을 첮아보니 아래와 같은 내력
이었습니다. 자랑스러운 Sandra Oh(오 미주)에게 큰박수를 보낸다. 규정

I watched this year’s Golden Globe Award ceremony with much more interest

than any other year because Sandra Oh was hosting it. I applaud her courageous 

challenge against white dominated Hollywood and congratulate on her success

wholeheartedly. She was telling Korean Americans “you can do it, don’t give up.

 This is America.”

It was making a statement to Trump administration that has been leading the nation

to be a white dominant divisive country. By showing brilliant minority talents,

the society was telling Trump how to lead the nation to unify the people. Immigrants

are not the second class citizen, but they are talents yearning for the opportunity.

(Green Book won the best motion picture award in comedy)

The movie “Green Book” won the best picture award in comedy. It is based on the true

story in 1960’s. The black pianist was touring southern states and he was escorted by

the son of Italian Immigrant from New York. The movie plays out comical but serous

incidences of southern racial discrimination and their team work.

"Green Book's" director, Peter Farrelly, made a plea for tolerance in his acceptance speech.

"We are still living in divided times, maybe more so now than ever," he said. "All we have

to do is just talk and not judge people by their differences, and look for what we have in common."

”It is called The Wife, that’s why it took 14 years to be made.”

Glenn Close won the best actress award in films as the leading role in “The Wife”. In the movie

she was the wife of Nobel prize winner. Unfortunately, it was not showed in major theaters.

I highly recommand it to wives of snu alumni.
