Bryson Dechambeau won the 120th US open in Winged CC in Westchester, NY.
His priority of driving is not to hit the fairway but to advance the ball as far as
he can. Most of PGA players could not reach the green if the ball is buried in
the US open rough. For him most of the time he can hit out of the rough and
reach the green. He builds his body with protein and physical exercise. He does
not bend the arm and the wrist on his backswing. He putts with straight arm and wrist.
All his irons have the same length of 37.5". He understood algebra at the age of 6.
He analyses the swing and the course scientifically. Could the conventional teaching of golf
overcome his superpower and a scientific theory?

Bryson DeChambeau looks a lot like a fat version of Payne Stewart.
However, his swing is totally looking like nobody in PGA.
He hits the ball with all his might but it seems to work. He was hitting some 340 yards off the tee.
He's doing Moe Norman style single-plane swing.
This type of swing seems to be getting popular because it's easy to learn with consistent results.
The traditional American swing may be getting out of fashion.

My daughter lives in Mamaroneck, NY and ever since USGA announced
last year, we had planned to attend this event, but darn COVID 19
prohibited us from doing it. Winged Foot is located within 10 minutes by
car from my daughter's home.
Winged Foot Golf Club has been known to be one of the toughest golf
courses like narrow fairways, high roughs, and extremely tricky greens.
This course is a perfect fit to a major like US Open and no wonder the US Opens
were held at here 6 times.
The top 2 finishers had unorthodox unique golf swings and this proves golf
is a complicated game enough for anyone could successfully be executed 'repeatedly',
then it would be counted. Bryson DeChambeau is a perfectionist like Mirim Lees.
His pre-putt routines are so particular and meticulous they were almost unbearable
to watch. He looked workaholic. He was the last one to leave the practice range
after 54 holes even though he was one of the leaders at that point. These are factors
to make the champion, I believe. Brooks Koepka had been dominant in majors in
recent years and I thought it would be good competitions between these 2 players.
Koepka's injury prohibited from this.
Two majors were won by young players thus far and it began to think, a new era in
the golf world began to be brewing? KJ

The second-place Mathew Wolff has no ordinary swing either.
He brings the club outside and up the club high first. He lift up
the left heel noticeably high. As his left heel goes down on the ground,
he brings down the club inside. He unleashes the club by clearing the left hip
with astonishing speed. He hits the ball as far as DeChambau.

Believe it or not, I predicted Bryson would win and was rooting for him.
I told my wife he would win and watched the game unfold.
It was a lot of fun watching all the great players falling apart except Bryson.
I became a believer in him when he won at Detroit Golf Club with a big lead.
I believe he is a new Tiger Wood in a way.
He's got the brain and the muscle a little more than his fellow players, it seems.
It is going to be exciting to watch all the great young players including Dustin Johnson
compete for the next several years.
