On March 7, 2023. Terry and Boot wrote an op-ed entitled, “South Korea takes a Brave Step Toward Reconciliation
with Japan”. The article echoed many of the points that an unnamed South Korean government official had impressed
upon Terry at a meeting, the indictment says.

수미 테리 국정원 스파이 혐의
Mr. Boot는 수미 테리의 남편 워싱톤 포스트 컬럼리스트이다.
한국 국정원 요원은 윤석열 대통령이 취임한지 얼마안되어 미국 방문이 임박
했을 무렵 수미 테리에게 접근하여 윤석열 대통령의 외교정책을 홍보하는
컬럼을 실어 달라고 부탁했다. 곧바로 워싱턴 포스트에 윤석열 정부의 "용기
있는 대일 외교 정상화"를 극찬하는 컬럼이 실렸다. 수미테리의 남편이 쓴
것으로 되어 있었으나 사실은 수미테리의 작품이었다고 한다.
하루는 수미테리가 미 하원 보좌관들을 초대하는 모임을 주최했다. 이 비용을
한국 국정원이 부담했다고 한다.
